The Cooper family supported so many people in their hard times, even Pastor Jeff. It's heartbreaking that when Mary and George needed support everybody turned their backs on them (Georgie got a girl pregnant season). That's real life I guess

@@tovethecat so many situations he’s in that because of how his mom treated him, he thinks he’s the good guy. Like how in the episode of his new teacher he interrupts the teacher and because of the teachers sarcastic remark, Sheldon thinks he’s the teachers favorite, in that instance I would’ve been horrified for the rest of the year because the teacher obviously doesn’t like me, his mother really messed up how he picks up social cues. (I also think I have Asperger’s syndrome)

@@HurtsEnd Well it's not only his mother. If he is on the Autism spectrum, chances are that he just will take everything literally. It took me years to figure out sarcasm, and I was definitely not treated like Sheldon at home... I still just thought people meant what they said. Instead of that they meant the exact opposite.

Annie Potts gets better looking as she gets older. I freaking love this woman! She’s been one of my favorites since the 70’s.

I like "Missy" -- it reminds me of sweet "Cissy" (which was the nickname of older sister Catherine Davis) on "Family Affair" (which until the web I thot was "Sissy" for "sister"). I was never a Big Bang Theory fan. So never watched this show. But I have been on line lately and I love it. And I have Said that about 4 shows total over last 5 years.

She is jealous on missy's innocence, but at same time, it's better to break her innocence before anyone outside do her worse

I watched Pretty in Pink the other day after not watching it in years. Seeing Annie Potts looking so ridiculously gorgeous was the highlight of the movie for me. She's just so freaking cool.

The producers had to work hard to keep Missy from shinning more than Sheldon. Most of the audience connected with Missy more than with Sheldon. One day she will shine in her own show.

To be fair, we already know Sheldon and Sheldon is already a really good kid. Problem with that??? It's not as fun for a story. 2nd, most people feel sorry for her. While there might be good reason for it, it's hard to be in a situation where your twin brother is already in college and you're in middle school... Like, even if the parents do try to encourage you, it feels so unfair. And Sheldon makes less trouble, so he gets yelled at less... but as a kid, what you'd notice is that you are yelled at less... Now, as an adult, she seems to get it and understand it better (and has a good relationship with her family), but as a kid, it's got to be hard. Also, once her dad dies and her mom is grieving and busy paying off debts, she will have no one in her family to care for her...

You are absolutely right about him being so obnoxious. There is a word for him that I have never said out loud. It starts with a P and ends with a K This past season was almost unwatchable when he was on. If he is the same for the new season I won't be watching it.

I actually relate to Sheldon is some ways and some ways I don’t. I definitely have a lot of quirks. However I am not as selfish as he is.

Here is a "Young Sheldon" fun fact; the Texas Super Collider would have been 50 miles long but the project was cancelled in 1993. There is an excellent educational side to the Young Sheldon sitcom and many teachers will be surprised when their students start discussing topics like Super Colliders and other science related subjects mentioned in the program.

@@Isaic02 well we are lucky becuase we are in the future and know the outcome of that project now. Imagine this with people who are in 1990 who had no real way to know whether the project would even succeed or even lead to more breakthrough in Science. If what other poster suggested was true that it was in competition for funding with Hubble Space Telescope, it's no brain why USA prefer to fund that instead because leading in Space related things had always been proved great for their image. Remember the Moon Landing? That alone were enough to slow down USSR advance to their space program. Which is why I get why the government chose a safer bet in Hubble Space Telescope.

It takes place in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Think about it… The Big Bang Theory started in the 2000s and features an adult Sheldon. This show is about the young Sheldon. You can’t have both the young and adult Sheldon living in the same decade.
