In many companies the boss wouldn't have a choice. Once it clears HR it won't go back, in fact managers in big companies aren't even involved in deciding raises.

Can we take a moment to appreciate George’s boss and how kind and understanding he is? He could have easily said no to the raise initially, and he could have taken it away after hearing the tragic news, but he handled both situations AMAZINGLY WELL!

You know ALL of the actors on Young Sheldon do an absolutely exemplary job. This episode was played with such insight and empathy! We all felt that Mary didn't need another child at this time in her life, but this was done so very well. The Dad...totally excellent job!

This made me cry so much. It's how he just remains in silence with her right after she tells him, and they just grieve together. George Sr. is a great husband.

It’s heartbreaking I went through it my babies heart stopped & I had to have the baby in hospital I have since been bullied by some women for the last 6 years which started the day I carried the coffin as if losing a baby wasn’t hard enough 💔

Such a sad, poignant and beautiful ending to this episode as it really hit home plus I loved George's reaction how he wasn't disappointed that she lost the baby as he was basically in tears saying I loved the first three fourth one is the charm. Although I still get annoyed that sheldon is all about himself and never sees the emotions of other people.

Well… idk much about Sheldon and whatever but i’m pretty sure he has autism. A common symptom of autism (especially Asperger’s, which I suspect is the type Sheldon has) is that the people affected have a hard time reading peoples emotions and “reading a room” because of the way their brain is wired. It’s like an “emtional blindness” in a sense, like they can see peoples faces and how they look but they can’t quite tell how they’re feeling at the moment. It can also be a symptom of ADHD as well.

To be fair, Sheldon seems to have autism... It's not that he doesn't care... it's that he can't notice... and his family doesn't want him to notice. It's like how Adult Georgie stated, they want to protect him... they know it's not his fault that he's ignorant of their problems and that he'd probably do his best to help them if they said so... But it also doesn't change the fact that it's also hard on the family to have someone like him...

Yeah all the 10 years old are all about the sharing , community and experts in reading emotions..... Sheldon was not able to do so as an adult let alone a 10 year old....

My ex and I lost a baby back in 2021. We didnt know she was pregnant due to meds she was taking messing with her cycle. She didnt know until she miscarried and it was one of 3 times in my life I was speechless. The baby would have been born that july and sometimes I almost come apart thinking about how I will never know that child or hold them in my arms or do all the things a dad is suppose to do. This july and every other july i think will be hard for me.

I really feel for you. I lost my baby in November 2020 and I was also due in July. Even though I'm expecting again, I still get very sad thinking about how I missed out on being in my previous baby's life and never getting to hold them. I still think about that baby every day ❤

It always makes me laugh how George closes doors by sliding out of the room while staring at the person inside of it.

I like how George knew when to shut up and run when it came to money lol. He was still humble enough to deny it, but when it came to business he knew the more he talked the worse off it would leave him. I learned that one a while ago lol

I love how Sheldon placed down the Kippa with respect, even if it is not his belive.

George wanting to give the raise back and the boss telling him to keep it was a sweet ending.

I knew this was going to happen to be honest. Sheldon never mentioned he had a sibling besides Missy and Georgie

George being a husband. As best he can. Respect

Miscarriages can be devastating. My mother has lost three IIRC. One before me. And then after having my sister and foist brother, lost two pregnancies. One being twins. One more sibling was born after those, and it was very scary.

Love the get out of the office before the boss can change his mind on the raise quick exit.

The odds are 1 in 4, and it was literal in Mary’s case.

​@@aminat65 with all due respect fraternal twins are two seperate eggs and semon so i think theu get to count as individuals in this case. Especially since it cam absolutely happen that one twin lives and one dies.

I know they couldn't have fit it in because a lot of things were set in stone due to the big bang theory but it would have been great to see them welcome another child. Mary was still fairly young and I know George would have gotten pretty excited about it.

That was heartbreaking

So one time my mom thought she was pregnant: so I was about 8-9 and I was in my room when I heard my parents talking in their room about a new baby and I wanted a little sister so I went and told my little brothers and they were both excited about having a new baby in the house now these were 6 years olds (keep that in mind) so I walked in my parents room a few days later and saw my mom in tears and I asked her what’s wrong and she told me that she was not pregnant so I told my brothers and they were (understandably) very disappointed

There is a lot of facial expression acting vs lines. It’s great!

Oh one of the hardest to learn that violin. BEAUTIFUL! But frustrating to try.

That 4th baby probably would have saved their marriage

We are not heartless for the way we react. The main problem for man is that we actually do not, and never will be able to understand what to do or how to deal in this situation. No matter how many tweets or how often you take any pills, a man can never understand how it feels to first carry a living thing inside you, and in the next moment its gone.

When I was 37 I got pregnant with my fifth and at 15 weeks lost my first son it was devasting mentally for me and harder to act normal so my Husband didn't take it so hard .Sometimes life seems unfair.

@@darknessqueen14 Well, I don't blame him. George has three kids. He's a high school coach. His salary is not exactly skyrocketing. His wife is a housewife. She doesn't work. So, George's salary was the only source of income in the family (until Georgie started to work). And one day, Mary serves him the news that she's pregnant again. Any man would react like that. But no normal man who's a father would be glad that his wife had a miscarriage. True, this is awful for the woman but that doesn't mean the man is jumping out of joy.

martin rusev I never said it wasn't hard for the father, my sister herself lost a baby and I know that my pain will never compare to hers or my brother in laws but that doesn't mean I don't feel the pain of losing my nephew either, and they worked it out as she realised what she said and felt bad she had said it in the first place, She was probably just lashing out before realising that George was hurting too, it doesn't give her the right to ask him if he feels relieved but she probably didn't even mean to say it as I said before she was perhaps lashing out Because of the pain she feels, but clearly they worked it out and figured out how to help each other heal through the process as they were holding hands.

I had a dream like this involving alternate versions of children's books where the mother loses the baby (either by miscarriage, abortion, or stillbirth), some in which the mother is happy with only one or two children.

I think it won't take away that habit of knocking, He still walked in on a disturbing scene for a chid to see but this will give him closure that his father was a good husband and never cheated, a good father too.
