    How the hell can you accuse him of cheating? He's so fast and he premoves too. At the same time, he explains the moves and predicts his opponent's moves. This dude is a machine.

    It is clear from watching performances like this that Kramnik has never actually seen Hikaru playing online in top form. The lightning reactions, the explanation of strategy, the pre-moving,.. and of course this is no different at all from any other online chess performance of Hikarus. Kramnik needs to get a life and start focusing on other issues and not just the people he probably is envious of.

    He's literally at #1 or #2 of the rating board, and his opponents are mostly around 2700-2800, which is a 500 points difference. Therefore, he'd probably have to win 3-4 matches consecutively and also not lose to gain points

    It's all very simple. The odds are that you either win or you lose, (or draw,) so not counting draws you have a 50/50 chance of winning. So if Hikaru wins more than half of his games he's clearly cheating! It's obvious! Numbers don't lie! Just ask the famous statistician Mr. Kramnik! Interesting.

    Interesting ! At the same time, for chess players, the odds of being world champion are very low (less than 0.5%, in any given year of course) and the odds of not being world champion is very high(greater than 99.552%)... How interesting would many find this ✊🏼

    If Hikaru was cheating his clearly not taking moves from an engine. Not playing at that speed and making a few errors. He would maybe have the evaluation bar visible or something. I don't actually think he is cheating for the record but if he was it's clearly a different way that noobs cheat online because he's so good already.

    @@Joshwaheazo right I think someone mentioned even just have something alert you to the fact that there's a big evaluation swing possible in certain positions is enough to make you look for it. It's like how you might be able to solve chess puzzles easily but seeing those tactics in a real game are difficult because you don't know what to be looking for.

  • @Joshwaheazo

    @Joshwaheazo

    @@ebreshea Yes, I don't think he is but it would be a massive advantage for someone like Hikaru. Especially in a low time evaluation if you make a bad move your see it instantly meaning you have more time to evaluate a defense and if the bar swings high you know to spend more time and find the tactic. It would help you manage your clock very very efficiently. At the highest level of play any advantage is massive. A long time ago on AOE2 I realised if you drop a relic before your monk drops he reaches the monastery it still placed it in the building and you could spam it 10 times I stomped everyone for a few months before I explained the bug. I think it's still in the game even today no idea if the new player base know. This was before competitive gaming was really a thing on game spy. I was already a top 10 player the player pool was quite small so a little less impressive than it would be today. But that small advantage of 5 gold a second made the imperial age so much cheaper I was unplayable. Small edges matter at the top.
