I think because each side has a story to tell. I think there's no such thing as black and white recall- everyone recounts a story with their own biases interjected. Details become muddled. Bottom line is that only those that were there truly ever know the truth. We are getting a watered down version from all sides. It can be hard to discern fact from fiction. I think there's some truth to each side. No one is all good and no one is all bad. We're all a little of both.

She sounds like a real snake

Its not really about Jaclyn not hanging out with her. Makeup Geek was THE brand for eyeshadows in the early-mid 2010's, and Jaclyn took Marlena's competitor to the same labs (which she wouldnt even have access to without Marlena), stole the formulation, and undercut her business. Prior to this, Morphe simply sold cheap, wholesale eyeshadows for a slight markup, but their space was brushes. But for ME, what makes Jac really icky is all the corners she cuts with her products. They brought up some great points to demonstrate that Jaclyn really does not care about making a quality product, she's just money-hungry.

I never saw anything about her stealing the formula.. I thought the drama was she was suppose to be doing a collaboration with makeup geek and thousands of the product had already been ordered.. Marlena didn’t get a contract signed and jacklyn went to Morphe and lied to Marlena.. Marlena should have gotten a contact signed.. but she thought jacklyn was her friend.. instead she ended up ruining make up geek over Morphe

⁠@@GM-ue8xcthe lab uses a similar formula for their products. So by Jaclyn taking Morphe to the lab, she gave them access to the higher quality products that makeup geek was supplying. So yes. Jaclyn basically gave morphe makeup geeks formula by taking them to the lab they use.

I'll always support Marlena. I have quite a few makeup geek products even though that's no longer around and I've never bought one Jaclyn Hill product and I won't.

And that's just what she caught her doing... Imagine everything else she didn't see.

It completely blows my mind that Jaclyn Hill still has supporters. She has shown time and time again that she has absolutely no morals.

A creator I follow made a funny short with Jaclyn in it. I didn’t know how she was but then Kat said as content creators they’re terrified of being canceled. Then Kat looked directly at Jaclyn and said remember when you got cancelled? Straight laughed in Jaclyn’s face.

I'm not surprised, her actions have shown us time and time again that she cares for no one other than herself and how much money she can scam out of her fans or by people who love makeup by severely cutting corners.

For any one wondering, MG had some products left on their store online. I just bought some eyeliner on there store for less then $2 dollars a piece. It's 07/04/2023.

I remember the video that Jaclyn posted on yt to introduce us into morphe (well I havent heard of that brand before, so to me it was an introduction). She said she randomly drove by a morphe store and stopped to check what it is and coincidentally discovered a new makeup brand and their astonoshing quality😂😂😂 how freaking fake everything was and still is jesus...does anyone else remember that video?

That was the biggest mistake Jacqueline made, but the biggest blessing that could happen to Marlena.

It contributed to the destruction of her make up brand. I wouldn't call that a blessing. She had already ordered a million dollars in product for their collaboration. Losing that collaboration did irreparable financial damage to makeup geek.

Having Makeup Geek in her back pocket wouldn't stop her from doing other things. Just look at Jeffree Star, he has about a million businesses. I wish nothing but the best for Marlena, but to not count this as a huge setback is looking at the past with rose-colored glasses. I do hope she can overcome it & be bigger & better than ever though! We definitely agree on that point! 😊

There are shitty people in this world, we’ve all met them and Jaclyn’s one of them, you’re not the only person in the world that’s been royally screwed over by a friend. This isn't the first time she's spoken about this, yeah. However, they weren't cadual friends. They were very close, and JH used to refer to Marlena as he best friend. It wasnt just a business friendship, they were close af. Anyone who followed the community at the time remembers JH flexing her friendship with MS constantly until thid incident happened and the friendship fizzled out. JH is a social climber who stood on Marlena's back to grow her own career.

They were both in town for their work, which Jaclyn knew was the same. Jaclyn could have bare minimum told Marlena that she was going to work with X lab, considering Marlena introduced them and vouched for both the lab and Jaclyn to the other. However, Jaclyn knowing that they were in town and could potentially see each other at the lab said I'm in town for work... not mentioning that she is introducing someone who Marlena didn't vouch for, and is not a friend to Marlena in without even communicating that to her. Omission is a lie. The lie in this case was used because Jaclyn knew that Marlena would not have introduced forma and Jaclyn as marlena and forma were not friends, solely competitors hocking cheap products. Particularly when Marlena worked so much by herself on her personal knowledge in the makeup industry and sought out to create quality products for reasonable prices. Either Jaclyn was afraid to tell Marlena because she didn't want to hurt her feelings or she didn't care and was solely out for money. Both ways Marlena is hurt because she thought Jaclyn was a friend. The latter is callous and the former sucks because your "friend" has shitty judgement

Sounds harsh but you can’t be sensitive to it if you want to be successful. I deal with it daily in the insurance business. My brother died and my dad’s business partner of 35 years went behind our backs and cut ties because “he didn’t want to deal with it”. People are ruthless and the quicker you learn that the better and faster you can move on and learn you can only depend on yourself and not become surprised by stuff like this….or work in a different type of job/industry if you can’t handle it
