Volk actually dominated only the last round the 5th round and since it is the last round before the decision, people only care about that round and nobody talked about how dominant was Islam in other rounds. It was a really good fight but clearly there was a clear winner. That's Islam. No doubt about it.

that was a depleted Islam that fought volk that night. The rehydration cluase is different in Australia for some reason and Islam was coming off a crazy training camp for Oliveria. There is no rest for Islam going in Volk training camp. But once he got that rest period and rehydration clause that is the true strength of Islam and full power. That version is the one that fought Charles that night. That version of Islam is scary version that everyone talks about not the one you saw in Australia

Not sure if he can regain the belt from that dangerous guy. His best bet will be to go 155 and in that weight class, it will take some extra effort to walk his way to the top.

Volk said he lost but thought he won...how's that an excuse? He landed more strikes in three of the rounds and one round was a draw in strikes. Islam just wanted to hug for most of the fight and did nothing on the ground but lay there lol. You're only saying excuses due to the second fight in which a fight on 10 days notice isn't an excuse but a fact, let's see islam face someone on 10 days notice after surgery and coming from vacation...he would never have the balls to do that ever. Never said islam wouldn't win but acting like 10 days notice is an excuse is dumb. If it was islam on 10 days notice i would say the same for him.

Islam had only 15 or 24 hours to rehydrate, whereas fighters usually get 36 hours of rehydration. So impacts Islam's ability to dominate. Volk did not need 36 hours to hydrate as he was bullying up. I don't understand why people accused Khabib and Machachev of being on steroids. They aren't particularly tall or hard punchers. If you give somebody steroids from childhood you would expect them to have that power punch and be massive. Their strength is from experience and consistent training in wrestling.

If you look stand up toe to toe fight in muaythai with the thais i seen plenty of russians getting knocked out out.

I know these guys are tough in ground but stand up wise kicking and punching the answer is no.plenty of these russian fighters have got knocked out when played standwise toe to toe by thais or khmer boxers which media doesnt show

Your analysis kinda misses a huge point in that Islam had to face Volkanovski in that first with 12 hours less hydration time. He was basically 2 litres of hydration down. For this reaskn his first win over Volks was more remarkable than the second.

Islam is in his prime. I think he still has a couple or more years where he will keep his belt and keep the challengers at bay. After that, I believe he will retire before he reaches the stage where someone might be able to beat him. However, if he goes up to 170, that's a totally different weight class and who knows what he might face there... unless he trains with Khamzat, then he will be ready for them too.

This video had so much promise but it fell massively short with no fight highlights

- before the fight: he ain't a big deal, he ain't Khabib - After the fight: I took the fight on short notice, he's on steroids reminder: in UFC 284 - The Aussies reduce recovery time after weighing from +36h to -20h to benefit Volk (that's why Islam looks so pale at the fight) - Volk fought the 5th round like he was in 1st round, 99.99% he was doped - They questioned the credibility of the UFC and accused the referees of favoring Islam (the replay showed that Islam won that fight) - They booed Islam until Bisping and Volk had to intervene - They led a campaign to smear Khabib's team, accusing them of doping
