When in Rome...Visit The World First Shopping Mall. | Mercati di Traiano

Just down from the world famous Colosseum in Rome, is what is considered to be the world first indoor shopping mall. Mercati di Traiano (or Trajans Market in English). Completed in 110AD Emperor Trajan. Not only was this a market for goods, but additionally there were offices for the government, an auditorium and even apartments for the citizens. The forum outside held a variety of events an was the central meeting place for the community. Up until this day, I never even knew this was a thing! At first, I assumed it was just another site of ruins and a museum. But after learning SO much about it, I am convinced that this attraction needed more attention! IF you happen to be in Rome and need a quiet, inexpensive afternoon trip, I highly recommend Trajans market.

Wow I didn't know about this. We visited Rome in March for 4 days and we went to a lot of sites but there is so much more to see. Guess we'll have to visit again, hopefully really soon.

Good you are doing this,One thing needs fixing.. you need to check to ensure you are using correct pronunciation... really lowers the quality if you sound too much like an American tourist.
