I wish the most disappointing thing about myself was that I couldn't make bread or bagels from scratch correctly. Deliah! You are making from stratch!!! That a huge accomplish that you even take the time to do that! The true success is that you keep trying! Don't be so hard on yourself.

Delilah, I am in metro Detroit. I am a Mom of 3 under 5. You have taught me a lot of things over 3 years. For instance, I copy paste your recipes to pack my freezers before having a baby. I can attest that I delivered a baby girl on December 18, 2023 and i am still eating from my freezer. Thank you! Also, I appreciate how you motivate me to do clean up and deep decluttering. This morning I was thinking about feeding my 4months old baby and I knew I can learn some baby foods recipes from you. I was right...now I am done making all the yummy baby recipes . Just when you feel discouraged remember that you are making a huge impact in a Mom across the Detroit River from Canada. Even if your content managed to impact me as one person that's a win. Also, I appreciate that you do everything around your kids...and I felt validated that all my babies sleep with us. You are not a failure and you have God in your home. God bless you and your family. Claire in metro Detroit Michigan ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Coming from another mum of four, it's ok to choose easy sometimes. I know you obviously love making from scratch etc and good on you for that! But the weeks that are hard, buy the store bought yoghurt and bread! Having four children can be a lot and just surviving in this stage of life is totally normal. Don't beat yourself up for not being perfect. Serve some cereal for breaky, I can guarantee your children are not going to mind one bit! I hope this comes off helpful and not as criticism. You're doing great xx

These words came into my mind: your worth is not determined by how well you're able to do something. Your worth is not determined by how energetic or efficient you are. You are worthy, period. That you can do things is great, but don't think your worth depends on it.

Tip for fresh milled flour - it takes longer to absorb liquids. So for example, if I am making a yeast bun recipe, i will combine all my wet and dry ingredients (with the exception of my little bit of water w/ yeast blooming) and let the flour absorb the liquids for about 25 minutes before adding my leavening agent and kneading. Also, I usually add a bit more fresh milled flour to a recipe than traditional AP because freshly milled is much fluffier than AP.

Delilah, I’m a stay at home mom of 2. After having such an encouraging & mostly inspiring winter in the kitchen, I too have been in a rut lately. I was looking so forward to spring but I’ve found that surprisingly I’ve had such a lack of motivation & have noticed such a change in my moods. I find myself so irritable lately & I am not exactly sure why. I was walking through hobby lobby this past weekend and I looked over to a sign that said “be patient with yourself, nothing in nature blooms all year” I think it can also be discouraging when we find ourselves feeling this way in the spring / seasons when we usually would be inspired & happy, then we are hard on ourselves for feeling this way. Anyway, this whole time I was watching this video, it was like you were speaking straight to how I’ve been feeling. I can’t tell you how less alone I feel after finishing this video. Thank you so much for being authentic & honest, simply just knowing someone else has been feeling the same way I have been, makes me go easier on myself. This couldn’t have come at a more perfect time for me.

And sharing words from the the bible really really creates a huge impact. I thank the Lord for your life, may God bless you more and your family❣️

I recently started my homemaking journey as a young woman preparing for marriage and yesterday I made butternut soup and it did NOT exactly turn out how I imagined it was going to😂. Sometimes emotions we carry are unavoidable. The fact that you listen to God’s words and always strive to be better makes you an amazing person. You are sensitive as am I. But I am much older and have had many years of mistakes. Trials and errors. You sound like a gentle soul. God smiles down on you for Blessed are they who are poor in spirit, which basically means you always know that you need God. I was a stay at home mom and at times could be very hard. Now I babysit my grandchildren. But, you are way ahead of me…I do not enjoy cooking. Delilah, I know exactly what you mean about the sourdough and the bread. I think i have figured out my problem. I believe it's the flour. I buy mine is 50lb bags, and put it in a giant galvanize bin in my pantry. I have gone through a whole 50 lb bag of failures and once that flour is gone, my sourdough came back to life and the bread products started getting back to normal. So it may or may not be the flour. And yes, the environment also plays a big part of our bread baking ups and downs. I make as much as I can from scratch. If I can avoid buying a product from the store, then I do. Those ingredients freak me right out because i know what they do to a person's health. Embrace the failures and embrace the lessons that YAHUAH is giving us through them. ❤

So excited to hear you are going to be starting to use fresh milled grains in your recipes!! I recently got a grain mill too and it has been an adventure. So many trial and errors but one thing I learned was to let my dough sit for 20 minutes to “hydrate” before kneading or cooking a recipe such as pancakes because the fresh flour takes longer to absorb the liquid. This just helps make the texture of the baked good so much better and easier to work with. Just wanted to share a little bit from my experience and I look forward to seeing all that you learn and can’t wait to try your recipes in the future!!

This video was so needed 🤍 I support you and understand the content shift over the last few years, but since vlogs haven’t been showing the gritty, I’ve felt more disconnected from your content because it DOES feel so curated and perfect lately! I loved how you shared this, in line with your mission but also honest and relatable. Keep these kind of connection videos coming, it’s why a lot of us are subscribed:)

🍝Pasta Machines🍝 I had one maybe 10 years ago. It was an Italian brand name I can’t recall. Very was difficult to clean and made small batches. I ended up donating it, lol. Fingers crossed things have advanced since then. My advice is do lots of homework. Make sure you get a machine that checks all your boxes. It’s a single tasker machine that’s going to take up space in your kitchen. I do feel your pain! Pasta dough is tough!!❤

I love watching your content☺️ I’ve made homemade pasta a handful of times both by hand and in the kitchen aid. I use the ballerina farm recipe, which is 6 eggs, 4 cups of ap flour, 1 tsp salt and 1-2 tsp olive oil. The recipe says to hand knead for 10 mins but I use the machine for probably 7, until the texture feels right. I also have one of those pasta presses for making different types of pasta and I find that it needs a nice and non-sticky dough, which I find the ballerina farm recipe is perfect for. Hope that helps☺️

That’s my story about becoming mom. 2 miscarriages but I can’t stop only cause it’s soo difficult. There no choice - only through. I ask myself - if easy option is not available, there is option to give up avoiding pain, or option to persevere risking pain but possibility to have dream come true. God is above all things and all we can do is our best. But we should do that best 🙏🏻

I’ve been feeling extremely stressed out and overwhelmed lately. This was uplifting and motivating to lay it all down at the feet of Jesus and allow Him to work in my heart to change my perception and attitude.

Wholewheat is more thirsty than regular flour and will give you a slightly denser product. Half and half is a good mix.

This was so encouraging, I’m going through a similar time right now. I’ve been cooking less and buying more premade foods because I’ve been discouraged/tired. This was so encouraging and showed me how much I’ve learned and why I need to persevere. You also encouraged me to stop my busy work and read and meditate on the Word. ❤️ Also please try that pasta machine and tell us all about it, it sounds like a dream!

I am going through this too! At one point I was so frustrated that I told myself I was quitting cooking/baking… and quickly remembered that’s quite literally not even possible 😂 We all have to cook whether we like it or not. I was just so frustrated to be wasting so many ingredients and so much money and time. We’ll get through the funk!
