That is the whole mentality! They're becoming more like their beloved "peacefuls" than they even realize.

You can notice a similarity with all ancient pagan religions being very open about sex and reproduction, Ig after colonialism a complete u-turn happened with this belief. Hindus nowadays just can’t accept that shivling is a phallic symbol on top of a yoni( which literally means vagina) there union depicts creation which I consider a beautiful metaphor for Shiva and Shakti. Shiv ling is not the male reproductive part. Though shiv do represent reproduction but in yogic manner. Let me give you a clear view if take shape of lingam and penis they look similiar but a lot of lingams dont have that cylindrical shape. Some are like big irregular stone shaped or even octagonal. The cylindrical shape represents the infinite length of ling, but offcourse that cant be made. So at last shiv ling form of shiv doesnt represent any reproduction related aspect.

I don't support this medula onlongeta theory but I know ki shivling doesn't represent male genitalia. लिंग in Sanskrit means symbol...sanskrit word for male genitalia is (शिश्न) According to shiv puran...it originated as cosmic pillar of fire between brahm and vishnu. Linga Puran mentions : प्रधानं प्रकृतिर यदाहुर्लिगंउत्तम । गंध-वर्ण-रसहिंनं शब्द-स्पर्शादिवर्जितं ॥---Which translates as the lingam is devoid of colour, taste , hearing or touch. So the linga cannot be any human organ. Paraath Param Paramaatmak Lingam, tat-Parnamaami Sadaa Shivlingam” Which says that Shivling is representation of Supreme-Soul (Paramatmak) form of Shiva. Depiction of shivling as male genitalia is false. Just look at the few natural occuring shivling or swayambhu/jyotirlinga like kedarnath shivling and mahabaleshwar shivling, kalpeshwar mahadev and joshimath they are in different shapes.

If you have read Shiv Purana, then also refer the story where it clearly states how it started where the story goes by when Shiva came in a hideous naked form with ashes smeared all over his body holding his phallus, to test the devotion of his devotees.... And the story goes on. Instead of looking at the actual story , we tend to look here and there and try to find different meanings to different words. A good example of this is Geeta's Shlok where people often treat the last part as "phal ki chinta mat karo" which is wrong. One more thing, if you are going by Sanskrit to Hindi Translation, then Ramayana used the word Vanarah which can also be interpreted as van+nar means humans who lives in jungle. Does that mean, Ramayana didn't have monkeys? Markatah is primarily used in Sanskrit for monkey but Vanarah is also used. So, you see, one word can have different meanings and for one thing, different words can be used.

Some animals even follow the same rule without any religion because good or bad was never the product of religion. Society made these rules. A pack of wolves protect their group without following any religion. We humans still kill others in war in the name of protecting our land and religion. Religion sometimes even justifies killing. Mahabharat is the best example for it. Recently I watched movies like Newton and 12th fail, this movie influenced me to be a better person. So stories like Mahabharata and Ramayan are often made to inspire you to be a better person. If we remove the religion from it, then after we will want to follow it

I mean to say that, animals didnt need religion to follow basic morality which religion often offers us. Even without religion, humans would have learned to live in society in harmony and with morality. Religion often takes credit for all good things but it's not all good. In conclusion, if an animal can learn morality without religion then we humana can also do so. 😌Movies are because of religion or not, thats not my point. I was trying to say, like good movies can influence people's mindset in positive way same apply for scriptures like Mahabharat Ramayan. These are tales of victory of good over evil. We should follow them but considering them all true is not right
