I believe the first stop light in Jamaica was built by Hedley Jones, he was a very tellented electronic engineer and musician. He made the first locally built electric guitar 🎸 and uses to entertain troops at Vernam Field, he also made and sold his guitars to US personnel. He also served in the RAF as a radar technician and built Studio Ones first studio. I first met him at Tinson Pen aerodrome wear he would fly back and forth from MoBay to Kingston late 1980's via Trans Jamaica Airline and he was president of the Jamaica Federation of Musicians at that time. I also use to hear him calling in on many talk shows, notably Perkins on Line.
