Seriously!? Some people have no clue! When I immigrated to the US 44 years ago I worked for a huge hospital. The American nurses couldn’t pass basic math tests. I was assigned to teach them! Throughout my career they also asked Filipinos how to spell English words! I could write a book about how well educated we are. It made me proud of Filipinos everyday.

We had a carpenter in Kansas who did some services for us back in the 90s. After which he handed my mother a handwritten receipt saying "Payed in full." 😄 This is a White American Kansas local whose first language is English. My grade school teacher from Ateneo, Mrs. Bandong moved to New York City to teach "Americans" English. This just proves that Filipinos are way smarter than your typical White American. 😅

Blond jokes, Polish jokes, Black jokes, Brown jokes, and any other "jokes" making fun of others are examples of "micro-aggression" at the root of which is racism and gender put down - and yes, it could even be against your very own culture or someone different from yourself or your own culture. @@mmyehokayyy2Agree. Just like mocking the Indian, Chinese and Arabic accents in sitcoms and movies. Our comedians mock other countries Accent too. Or I think when there was an issue about a beauty pageant with Megan Young as the host. Filipinos are one of the worst bullies if we feel even a little bit slighted.

Yes we have different accent, other countries have different accent too when they speak English, but that's just how it is, we have different dialects, languages and what have you. English is not our first language. Nobody deserves racism, like nobody. Period. And by the way, I have friends, sister in law, and a nieces who are Nurses in the US, like helllooo?? They speak English very well and they are educated, courteous, respectful, and diligent in their work. Filipinos are waaaaayyy patient and hard working & caring people! Like legit!!

In reality, we Filipinos are just really sensitive individuals. I think this has have something to do deeply with all the shaming and name callings we've received since way back under the Spanish Era as part of their colony. Then, with the American and Japanese regimen that occupied the Philippines afterwards. So, when we were given our liberty and independance, we have but strived to make a good name among the world to gain respect and image. That is why Filipinos as so competative to win and give glory to our flag, soveriegnty, and race. You will see and observe that obvious with us. We fight for our honor and name. In addition to this, we Filipinos are also collectivists. We cannot just shake off and let go a word or a derogatory remarks rendered against us, especially if it was done in a national or international platform. We are hospitable, friendly, and welcoming. But, we can also bring out our fangs and claws when needed. Hahaha

Filipino are so kind, hardworking, patient and deligent.Very accomodating and jolly person. Don't judge us how we speak english because we have different languages. Filipino can speak english well, but others are not. English people speak english fluently, or couse that is their language, but they can't speak tagalog. Why some people discriminate others.

The person who mocks says more about who he/she is than the person he/she mocks. If you project toxicity/negativity that’s because your life is one. I’d say the filipino OFWs only make this world a better place for the jobs they do serve humanity.

It just happen to Bret the Canadian vlogger who is now in Mexico just received a lot of backlash and most of his Filipino followers unsubscribed his channel because of allegations he made against his Filipino friends in Cateel, and statements about the Philippines. Some of his former subscribers are not happy of what he’s been posting and commenting about their religion. It’s a mess…..His recent vlog that he was threatened of assault that the Cateel boys denied is disturbing. Now, he’s not welcome back nor he’s planning to return to the Philippines anytime soon

She should replay her own video & carefully listen to herself - she too has a very thick accent when speaking in English! Kong sya nga halatang may thick ang accent pag nag English, bakit mo gagawin na katatawanan ang accent ng iba???

As a Filipino and an introvert I am fascinated and happy by accents sometimes even by syntax because it means I'll have something for small talk and a chance to learn something I don't know even with fellow Filipinos. I'm not sure if it's part of the hospitality thing but when I listen/hear foreigners speak I auto switch accents in my head so I would understand them (even if I only watch them on screens 😂). On personal note, of my encounters with Koreans I even have to try to speak in their kind of accent and pronunciations so we would understand each other - mockery is cheap shot and over sensitivity is misplaced patriotism, imo.😊
