Idk if she means what she's saying or her English is wrong, but I think her mom meant that she needed her daughter to get the uncle's help in repairing something. Apparently, a water pipe is too short and they need help. What she means by "hook up" is probably her words for "ask for help". The dad tried to fix it, but the pipe they had was too short to repair it and the uncle has one with proper length. Oh, and whenever the mom turns on something (idk maybe the sink?) the water splashes her. So, I don't really know if this is correct, maybe she was actually telling a joke to her daughter, idk. 😊
