canuck fan here who just finished watching game 5, Pickard is playing amazingly! funny how neither team has their starters, playing with goalies who have never played in the playoffs and both are playing great. I'm happy for both goalies! the games themselves have been a heart attack waiting to happen and I'm sure oilers fans would agree!

He's let in a few soft goals, the 2nd tonight was really bad, a weak backhander. 3rd goal he stood still... his first game 1st goal was weak and they would have crucified Skinner yet again. I say this after all the flak Skinner has taken for the core issue...really bad D

@@scottyboy6269 Skinner did play poorly... not like we were shooting a ton in the first few games. I'm just saying Pickard is doing great, especially since he's never played in playoffs. Silovs is also doing great, I'm giving both goalies, who normally wouldn't have even been playing, some credit

@@patrickbaklava7297 I didn't mention Skinner until the other guy did, and neither of us said he was a starter. I said neither team had their starter out. If we didn't have Silovs out, we also wouldn't have our starter since Demko is still injured

@@ashleyjohnson258 EP hasn't got enough credit, He won 2 games against predators with his board play etc. Then tonight dove to try and keep puck i, settled it down for Lindholm , then the deflection(if that got overturned after Forsbergs goal counted in round 1......)

@@scottyboy6269 he hasn't been playing TERRIBLY, but definitely not near his full potential. Tonight, he was getting back into it and it was nice to see... then there was that penalty against him which shouldn't have been called, even the oilers and commentators had no idea what was being called or why

As someone in the Pacific timezone the 4PM starts are brutal. I should probably move back East just for hockey watching purposes because I generally go to sleep at around 4-5 AM so the late starts wouldn't bug me but I have to work during the early starts.

I know somebody who's a happy camper! Rangers 4 straight goals to finally look like a playoff team. They will need to smarten up if they want to beat the Panthers! Happy for you, Eck. (yeah, this post doesn't belong here for this video, but since there's no DM function, it's the best i could do)

It's been a repeated issue for Juulsen this year. He's improved ASTRONOMICALLY as a defenseman since the season started--he looked completely out of his depth in the NHL and was a perfect demonstration of an AHL defenseman not ready for the callup early in the season. I was scared every time he touched the puck. But he got better each and every game over the season, turning from what looked like a bottom 6 AHL defenseman to a legit 3rd pairing NHL defenseman. Incredible to see someone develop like that over such a short time. But he still has that one issue where he randomly gets tunnel vision on a guy and locks in for a big hit that takes him out of the play. It killed us in a game against Winnipeg in February, where it was almost a carbon copy of the play tonight except it was against the boards rather than at the blue line. Juulsen tunnels on a guy for a big hit, levels him, but the puck has already moved away right before contact and Juulsen's out of the play as well as his target. Brutal. Ian Cole's been genuinely cursed this series but at least he seems to have regained a little bit of his composure in Game 5. If he collapses again I wouldn't be opposed to Tocchet giving Juulsen another shot. He's shown his adaptability.

I don't think deflections are figuring him out.

What a great series

This truly is the best time of year. My wife and I just turn on the tv and it's hockey all evening, every evening. We didn't see this one though, We're east coast and the Rangers game sucked all of the life out of me.

As an edm fan who was young and just getting into hockey in 06, i would love and be afraid of a canes rematch. Pickard comes into himself in the next series. Becomes a grade A goaltender. Meets the canes in the finals, gets injured game 1 and we use skinner and lose in game 7 😭
