Whelen OmniAlert OA4 Tornado Siren Test - Wilmington, Ohio - 9-1-2018

Unfortunately, this was definitely not my best recording. This siren failed to sound the "Alert" signal, so I shut my camera down to head down the street to another siren. Then this one started sounding the "Air Horn" signal, so I got my camera back out to catch the final part of the test. I think this siren may have signal reception issues, even though it's practically brand new. The reason I cut the camera early was because in case the police department showed up to manually shut down the siren, I didn't want to be there. It shut down on its own eventually. I may try to record this one again and see if it does any different. It's disappointing that this one malfunctions. The 2001-DC that it replaced worked perfectly every test.

Sounds more like a British ambulance.
Did this siren get fixed? Also while it’s doing Hi-lo you can hear the other sirens doing Hi-lo
It seems really close to that other Vortex. The radio is having issues picking up the tones or is mis-programmed. It didn't catch the tones for alert or the cancel tones. That's why it kept going in hilo after the others stopped.

how do you tell the different between omnialert and a WPS siren
It's weird it doesn't do alert.

How'd it malfunction like this already? lol
a little low, by the way i'm curious why it did beep noises? cool! never seen.

Sounds loud! No use telling the dispatch lady, she probably thinks we're the reason it never works right haha.
