For the love of.... do not add 2 inches to width! It makes mobility more difficult! We don't need extra space for our jackets and whatever. Our wheelchairs are a prosthetic a need to be streamlined and closely fitted to our bodies. The wider the chair, the more difficult it is to push our own chairs. The more difficult it is to get through door ways. The less efficient every push is. Got it? Please understand this for our sake.

long seat depth causes sacral sitting, skin breakdown and kypotic posture and when there is a short seat depth, the patient will not have enough support for his tights.

Adding two inches to width is the standard across the board. If you Listen carefully and she said- "sometime in places where the climate is colder they SAY they add 3" due to coats." BUT she did not marry that statement.
