verin is a contender for most bad ass character in the wheel of time series. when i think about what she did i can only stand in awe of her fortitude, she is one bad ass spy.

Yeah she’s underrated as far as the series characters go. That must have been such a huge burden to carry but she did it.
How surreal that must have been for Brandon to sit there and listen to. Constantly thinking if he had done Jordan proud. If he had taken his baby and raised him properly knowing the shoes he had to fill. Jesus. And to have Harriet read it aloud. That’s a huge weight.
I am sorry I am barely seeing this now, but it was a great watch and is Making me go reread all the books again.... Thank you all...
2:05 such a beautiful moment. Sanderson did such a great job it was hard to imagine it wasn’t Jordan writing.
Listening to this 8 years after this was posted, it's nice to see the that Harriet's desire for the books to be transitioned into a show as a visual medium is finally happening!

Its a right tragedy what theyve gone and done with WOT season 1, mate. They're a real rotten bunch of sods over at amazon. Heres.. to season two..
It's kind of crazy that the ending would've, most likely, been botched if it weren't for Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson being at the right place at the right time

Thanks for capturing this. A great discusision after reading the last book.
Bloody Ashes! I wish they would continue the book after Rand al'Thor was transferred over to Moridin's body. I also would like to see Cadsuane be put in here place as well, humbled. She was big headed and full of self entitlement just like any KIng or Queen, but yeah , I know all the Aes Sedai were like that to, but Cadsuane the most. I guess you can say you can make stories out of all the characters like Matrim Cauthon with Fortuana(Tuon), or Perrin with Faile, or Min, or Queen Elayne and the rebuilding of her kingdom. So many ways to turn the WOT to many branched out little short stories from many of them characters from the book. I can't get enough of the WOT series. I've read all 14 books four times now. Sometimes I will put on the WOT audiobook at night to just fall asleep listening to it. I hope they do the book justice when they make the TV series or movie of it like Games of Thrones even though they changed some storylines from the book to TV but it was still really good. Dumai Wells when Rand was in the chest and they go and save him was the best scene ever out of all the books.

Jay Ram that was one gripe I had at various stages throughout the series, the Aes Sedai were very arrogant and needed to be put in their place occasionally. Cadsuane would carrying on about manners but was one of the rudest characters in the book. I found a lot of the Aes Sedai to be quite hypocritical.

John Dearing not quite man. That was when he was figuring out he was a weapon and he was making weapons. It wasn’t until he broke down and realized he couldn’t be iron to win. When he became loving again. When he saw the dark while blind. When they couldn’t hide from his light. That’s when he became who he was.

The Metal Pig she wasn’t hypocritical. She had that arrogance because of all of her long years and long strife and all she had done. But she knew she had to break rand from being a stone. To make him love again. She basically lived her entire life for that moment. Give her more credit b

Wow this was so great to watch.
I started reading the wheel of time series the year the first book was published. I was very sad when I found out that Robert Jordan has passed away. He had a style similar to J R R Tolkien in the way his writting transports you to that world while you are reading the books. A better question would have been, could any other man capable of channeling be able to pick up and wield the sword Callendor without being consumed and destroyed by it?

Yes, Jahar Narishma uses Callandor during the Cleansing. And because Callandor has a buffer on it, it's impossible to over-draw saidin.
there are hardback books over 6" thick. they almost look like cubes, and of course are several thousand pages. generally they are technical manuals.
Damn this is good, thanks for posting this. So great to find this especially after the debacle that is the show happened

I just think his prose & characterization is superficial, everyone feels like plot point. Worldbuilding same, different races without true difference, not a fan of limited magic systems either, lacks epic & he's a total prude avoiding sex/foul language. I see him as kids author.
