Mike's Book Reviews I think Nynaeve is the best written character. She grows so much throughout the series and you go from disliking her to loving her. It’s great! I did the same thing with a name search and fortunately for me that person didn’t actually die in the last battle so there’s hope for you.

Mike it's funny how you say there's only a thousand pages of the story left!😂 Now that you're this far in can you tell the difference between Jordans riding and sanderson's influence? At this point I'm not spoiling anything but there are two characters that you can tell are pure Sanderson. There is a male Chandler whose name I forget who has a talent for gateways. Also if you look the way certain characters begin to use the power, the applications seems to be pure Sanderson rather than Jordan. I believe I asked you this in another video but what did you think of Elaida's foretelling of how the Black Tower will be rent in Blood and Fire and the White Tower will be be remade whole and stronger than before? What do you think of mens viewing of loghain wearing a crown? Keep that in your head You made an Infinity War reference... I hate to say this bro but not everybody got their moment. The Hulk certainly didn't fat Thor? Some would argue that😒 Question, how often have you been disappointed with your wishlist? I have to say it's interesting to see you get emotional about finishing the series and having this wanting to yet not wanting to at the same time. For me it was different. However you're getting the completed work. For many of us when Jordan died there was this huge wave of despair for many reasons. Many of the stop we would never see the end of this Tale. So when we found out that Sanderson was going to pick up the pen we were elated. So for myself there was more anticipation. I wanted to see how this tale ended. So I didn't feel the dread. I wish I could say I stuck with you from the beginning with eye of the world. As in many things I don't do them the way everybody else does. I stumbled on You by pure chance. I think I was watching a Na'blis video or something? Or I just want to see if anybody read other than Daniel and the other guy Wheel of Time because there is a lot of Game of Thrones stuff. Anyway it's not a back door then I took a side door because I found you or rather one of your book reviews at around book 4 or 5. From there I saw that then saw your Stephen King stuff. When I think of it I think it was Stephen King more than anything that was my side door to your Channel.🤔

There a few changes of view points in the last battle that are natural breaks, you don't have to read it in one shot. You might want to re-read some of the parts before you continue on with whole battle as well so you are not missing things.

Interesting thing about Androl: yes, he is 100% a Sanderson character, but he does have a basis in Jordan's notes. Among the mountains of material Sanderson had to review was an article on leatherworking with a note from Jordan that just said, "Use this somewhere." Sanderson had to create new story for the Black Tower resolution because Jordan hadn't written anything, but he did use Jordan's work to do so.

Reading it. Had to put the book aside several times. I don't want it to end.. Then, the sh#t hit the fan, and people began dying. Sanderson killed my favorite character first - then her warder (I'm talking about S, not E- her I couldn't care less, though I have a tinfoil hat theory she might be Yliana reincarnated. .) Today I didn't read 1/5 of what I usually read. Put down the book for tonight ...1oo pages before the end. I was too emotionally exhausted, I couldn't face reading Rand's fate after all the deaths, too. I've been crying for close to an hour or two straight, reading through my tears- even for "happy events" like Lan and Birgitte return- actually sobbed harder. So, tomorrow will be the day. What will I do/read, after .... Never thought this series could hit me so hard, I had so many problems with it. Yet, here I am, not willing for it to end.

I hope 'A Memory of Light' fulfills your wishes. The name of that book is beautiful i think, a very, fitting name, I remember just sitting there and thinking about the book name before I began reading it, I was getting goosebumps just contemplating the possible philosophical hints the name has with the series lore. My favourite covers for the series are the ones with the wheel and serpant on the black background, also loved that A Memory of Light had a white background instead.

When I finally picked up A Memory of Light, I was really hoping for some resolution to the Black Tower and the Seanchan. I was resigned to Perrin not being who I wanted him to be, but looking forward to seeing Mat and Rand get to it. I was hoping Elayne was going to be on the casualty list, but expected mostly just Rand and Lan from the major cast to go down. But like you I really wanted to see an actual confrontation with the Dark One.

It's a little late now, but I just had the thought about your spoiler warnings. I am in a house where some people have not gotten to the points you are yet, and I will wait to watch the whole review/wishlist at a point where they're not around, but sometimes I want to click and check out your general thoughts before I delve in. sometimes those thoughts are things that I like the others to hear. I guess what I mean is it's nice to be able to watch without fear of something being spoiled for someone else who's near, so the warnings still serve a valid purpose. It might just be me, but maybe others do something similar. I say, continue giving the spoiler warning while deep into a series, not for just the viewer, but for the innocent bystanders.

When I started this series I would reread all the books ahead of the new one coming out. Just a way to get myself re-enthralled and jog my memory to all of the lead-up. When AMoL came out I waited five years to pick it up because I was so afraid of it being over. I finally finished the book last year after a full reread. I don't agree with all of your takes (I enjoy the political intrigue in Andor) and I think it is partially because I have read the first half of the series so many times. I really look forward to your review of AMoL. The fact that you read it all (even the painfully dull bits) and take such good notes shows you respect the audience and the desire to truly share your viewpoint. AMoL is quite the rollercoaster and nailbiter. Enjoy!

In fact, I only read about half the book when it came out. I put it down because I didn't want the series to end, and didn't think the ending could possibly be good enough. IT has been one hell of a ride following your first time reading WoT. I hope you love the last book. I did, cant wait for your final review. When you have had time to digest the series, do a liveshow where all of us who have been following you can have a discussion. Character for character, book by book, favorit scenes. Just throwing out some examples.

The first time I read Memory of Light...I got the book and was unable to stop reading until I finished it. Was worth it. I think it was so long journey...and I really wanted to see how it ended. So I just kept reading. Not everything worked out like I would have wished, some worked out better than I hoped.

Has anyone suggested that you start narrating books? I think that you would be great at it. Murphy Napier does and gives suggestions that will save you a lot of pain. I started listening to one of your earlier videos and it took 5 or 6 seconds to realize it was an add for Rise of Kingdoms. They should pay you because clearly they hired someone with a voice similar to yours. Thank you for your channel. I appreciate you and your work.

Wait between books? Haha! When I was 12 and started reading this series, there were only four books. Every book was a wait. That was one of the reasons the last one hit me so hard. It was the first time in like 20 years that I wasn't waiting for the next WoT book.

All I'll say is that I'm anxious to see your review for AMoL, based on this wishlist. Without spoiling anything, every time you stated a wish, I was like, "Yeah, that does happen," or, "I guess it kinda happens like that," or, "No, the opposite of that happens." Who knows how each of those will come off when you actually read them, though. Like you said in the ToM review, you wanted more Perrin and then didn't like it that much when you got it.

You already said it in the video, but dont consult the companion book. It´s meant for people who finished the series. And remember: it´s not the ending, but AN ending. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. Re-reads exist for a reason. But first and foremost: have fun reading the final book! You´re so close!

As for Min's viewings, this is a good list that contains no spoilers for AMoL because they stopped updating the site roughly three chapters into AMoL: www.encyclopaedia-wot.org/prophecies/viewings.html It also lists them by chapter if you want to go back and read them one-by-one. The links to speculation on what the viewings mean no longer work, but this page seems to have them: www.steelypips.org/wotfaq/4_prophecy/4.2_min-view.html

Mike I had a thought. I know this is my second post on this. However hear me out. I think if the Wheel of Time live action adaptation proves successful hell even the books right now I think illustrates an interesting study and how to make a strong female character versus a Mary Sue. It's odd to think about but The Wheel of Time Has representations of both. In Nynaeve you have a strong female character who in her own way goes to the hero's journey and learns and has flaws. And egwene you have the Mary Sue who in the words of Doom Cock & others of The fandom Menace the Rey character who is the bestest evarrr. I think for those who have no issues with the Wheel of Time and strong female characters this series provides ample cannon fodder to prove how and why characters like Rey Palpatine, Michael Burnham, and Captain Meh-vel are poorly written and not accepted into the cultural zeitgeist and why characters like Moraine ,Nynaeve , Ripley, and Sarah Connors considered both strong and readily accepted into pop culture zeitgeist I forgot the Xena and Buffy sorry!😜

I'm right there with you. Every part of Androl's story that was not saving Logain should have been Logain's story. Androl should have used his gateway talent once to save Ligain, not come out of nowhere like a min-maxed Gary Stu to steal Logain's thunder. I did not like it. The last three books are NOT the time/place to start fleshing out new characters.

  • @jamesderosa2041

Violet Soda The way he uses his gateways is so Mistborn, too. It doesn’t fit in WoT. I don’t really like Sanderson’s writing style in his own stuff, so I may be biased. All his action scenes feel like they were penned by a thirteen-year-old who thinks it’s *just the coolest fucking thing EVAR*! He did a good job not getting too far away from RJ’s style, but his stylistic tendencies are most apparent with Androl.
