You know, I've been a watcher of CNN since it's inception. Anyone who follows cable news (any channel), knows that it's packaged as info-tainment. That said, since 2004...and definitely in the last five years, the product has been watered down from information, to just opinions. My favourite parts of Wolf's performance, were when she was eviscerating the media for not only being complicit in getting a "Trump" elected, but that they are also profiteering from this shitshow of an administration. Listening to those in the media (today) whine, and cry foul, is pathetic. Maybe if you'd do your jobs, instead of having the same talking heads talk over one another constantly, comedians wouldn't have to pick up the slack.

Watching the Reichwing having conniptions over this is truly ironic. They can't understand humor or irony. No wonder the entertainment industry is dominated by progressives.

Oh my god the pearl clutching about abortion jokes. This is like when Republican lawmakers pass law after law controlling what medical procedures women can get but banning a woman lawmaker who said the scientific term for certain female reproductive body parts. If you want to make laws about abortion or have opinions (strong opinions, too, like calling millions of women murderous criminals) about abortion, then you can't _also_ tell everyone else that you're too squeamish to hear the word "vagina" or hear a joke about Republican lawmakers who get abortions for their mistresses. Which, by the way, is not a joke so much as Wolf telling you what actually happens!

Watch a few of the older Correspondents' Dinners. Michelle Obama was well roasted, and she laughed. It was great and it was funny and I love her. This was only a misery because so many people in the room are huge pains in the ass.

If by awesome you mean disgusting beyond measure, then yes.

I'll boil this down for you. Michele Wolf is a comedian. Comedians write and tell jokes to amuse the public. Journalists on the other hand report on the news. Comedians have nothing to do with journalists. How well or badly a comedian performed has as much to do with how well my mechanic repaired my car when I write this. They are two separate facts. As for my personal opinion on the matter: I loved Michele's performance, kudos to you girl. And as for my mechanic, that squeak is still present. Two irrelevant points. Can haters/lovers suggest a good mechanic?

She did a wonderful job, its wasn't FAKE NEWS.

Can't take it, don't dish it whether it's from you or who you represent. No one should have to apologise for anything until Trump does.

She had some sharp barbs. I think the complainers are not getting that it's stand up and it can be sharp. People complaining about a stand up routine during a free-speech celebration should, in my opinion, more closely examine their position on free speech and also make sure they are not being fragile. As a side note, criticism is not hate speech. This kind of thing speech is the exact thing an open press should be defending. edit: I agree that at least a few of the jokes were a miss, and certainly her closing line was not intended to be a joke at all but simply her taking advantage of the platform she was given. My primary point is that there is nothing for her to apologize for and people should not ask for one nor feel like they deserve one.

With that said Jason, Trump reached out and send some of his staffers to the event this year. Last year nobody went. The end result is a total miss and a clear effort to drive them out. I am fully with Trump and his admin to never attend this event again. It was a ore-planned attack to demonize individuals.

It amazes me that they knew the style of this comedian and yet the association are back peddling on the style of jokes that were presented. Bunch of cowards!

The only reason why this is an issue is because there was a close-up of Sanders being offended by the JOKES. If the close-up showed her laughing, smiling or any type of more positive reaction, no story. A roast is a roast. No boundaries. The real world is a different story.

She was simply funny and speaking truth. Yup, that truth hurts. Too bad for the politicians and the news networks.
