So I’m not sure what the hardest position is overall but I can break it down into: 1. Skills - OH because you need to be well rounded. Hitting, passing, blocking defense 2. Physically - Middle because of the lateral movement, the transitioning on & off the net, plus lots of jumping Mentally - Setter because of how much you need to be aware of and be thinking about.

@@aprilidol that’s true. However I don’t think libero is the easiest position, that would be the opposite. Passing is the most important and the hardest skill in my opinion. If you can’t pass the ball you can’t play or at least play well depending on the level of competition. Thus there’s a lot of pressure on the passers. That’s just my opinion though.

damnn libero’s never really get the recognition they deserve🥲 lmao players who’ve never been or experienced being a libero are the ones that always say libero is the easiest position… I was a libero and floor defense is not an easy job, and there are other skills libero’s need that takes a while to learn and master😩🤚🏽Hardest position would be libero and setter… Easiest position would be Opposite🤷🏻♂️

Right, you can’t have a bad day as a libero. You’ll get replaced! You can’t make errors like an outside hitter or middle... You have to be perfect at all times.
@michaelnguyen6891
3 жыл бұрын
@@blickblick7723 what do you mean, outside have the same floor defense job as a libero, they have to dig middle back which is the harder position to execute your footwork because you gotta recognize if the block are loose on line, tight line, or there are any seams, you're the one chasing down a tool off the finger tips too. Passes can be covered by the setter, the hard job is that most of the ball comes to you in defense, most of the balls are coming for the outsides on serve-receive because they usually avoid liberos

😂😂You tell them Gage...Libero is the hardest worker out on the court.
Hardest: Middle Blocker I played an undersize middle for five months and it was torture, trying to not get in the setters way when you drop back to spike, read blocking, spiking different sets like twos, ones, and back ones, and all that jazz. Easiest: Opposite don't disrespect Liberos when someone is bombing jump serves we gotta be the ones to deal with that s**t, Back on topic yeah Opposite is the easiest all you do is hit basically.

But your main job isn’t even to hit. It’s to block the outside 😭
the lack of structure and micah's sporadic personality made this vid 10x funnier i stg
Oppo is definitely the easiest. All you gotta do is hit sometimes and block 1 person. If you're playing poorly you just don't get set. It's that simple. Outside is the hardest b/c they pass just as much as a lib and they also have to block well and are expected to get kills on absolute garbage sets.
@michaelnguyen6891
3 жыл бұрын
what do you mean, back sets are harder, which means oppo have to be better at adjusting to bad sets. Oppo blocks against the B quicks which happen more often than setter dumps, oppo is blocking against outside, usually the best hitter, and if they happen to be the smartest hitter your floor defense skill also gotta be high to chase down tips, tool, etc. Opposite can be placed as a main receiver too, and when that happen they have to spike pipe and backrow pin (Matt Anderson do this)

For me it's the setter that have it the hardest, they have to block, pass set, set and serve really well while finding the best player to set to, and that's sometimes cross court, have the most touches, and have to move the most. After them it's libero, they always have to be ready, and can't hesitate, and then it'd be middles. Everyone wants to hit, but they forget to appreciate the ones leading up to it.

Libero’s skill set is very limited so, yes technically on paper it is the easiest, BUT in order to be a good Libero is hard. So if I were to get a outside who has great ball control, passing, intuition, receive, etc his teams Libero better be better at all those skills. All of the positions are difficult, it seems as if everyone is judging based of how many skills they need, instead of how good each skill has to be.
The goal in volleyball is to keep the ball alive no matter what and libero's saves the ball by doing all diving , jumping, running 🏃 ,rolling and even reach it by far far away just to save the play...

Libero is the easiest (if DS doesn't count as a position) Your mistakes can be covered by the setter, Outsides are doing the same job you're doing but harder, they gotta transition from passing to hitting, they get aimed at more since most teams avoid serving at libero, digging left back footwork is simplier and easier than middle back (OH), you just get more spikes since the blocks are set up to tunnel the ball towards you Setter and Outsides are contenders for the hardest positions Setting with good passes, you're an attacker/decoy, you're always a supporter for both bad passes and optimize spiking height when running a fast offense, and you are the strategist, gotta think about matchups, play to your team's strengths, etc. (especially if you're a japan high school setter, the way they run their combos to utilize the best hitters all around the net demands a lot). Defensively you gotta block against the Outside,, who is usually the best hitter, and cover their tips, tool, etc. plus you're helping with blocking 31 when you're backrow if they're smart, that means your reading skill and ability to save balls far away gotta be high. You gotta be good at serving to stand out among setters Outsides have require the most skills, you obviously need to be good at serving, you usually receive (unless the opposite is the main receiver for you), you have to hit the most and cover whatever setting mistake the setter make, hitting pipe in a fast offense is hard too since setter don't have a height reference point and it's easy to messed up, you gotta be able to defense against the Oppo, who usually spends all his time hitting and you're the one handling the setter dump for 3 rotations, you have to dig middle back, which means you gotta be able to recognize loose line, tight line, seams, etc. and assist the rear defenders plyus you're the one chasing the ball down if the opponent tool the top of the block. At a high level, you're usually the emergency setter, so you gotta learn how to do a fake spike set Middle is harder than Oppo but they're not the hardest Middle hard part is to recognize the pass and run their route accordingly even when they don't get the ball a lot in a low level. Gotta be able to block with both footwork endings (Left-Right, Right-Left) for both pins and read block constantly, if you messed up and the pins are injured, it's on you Oppo obviously hit a lot, adjust to bad sets more since back setting is hard for setters, sometimes if circumstances force you to you gotta be a main receiver, you both hit pipe and back row pin if you're a main receiver, you block against the outside and gotta be able to handle the tools, tips, etc. from the best hitter. You gotta be good at serving. Middles double blocking on your side need a Left-Right ending, which is not their dominant footwork, more chance of you getting injured when landing

Let me break this down. Outside-It’s easy to get kills and stuff but you also need good passing skills so it’s on the easier side in my opinion. Opposite- ima be honest these folks have it easy because the only thing you really have to be good at is hitting. Middle-Probably the hardest of the three because they have to block, and hit a lot of quicks. Libero- This position is pretty hard because passing is the hardest part of the game and that’s kinda what they do mainly. Setter-SUPER hard position because you have to be mentally and physically tough. Defensive specialist- Easier then libero that’s all I have to say about this position
To be honest, idk witch position is the hardest or easiest I feel like every position is hard because even though you only have to spike or block you need to work hard. I'm learning setting i want to be a setter, and for now I think setter is the hardest position. Because u need to have a good serve you need to be the best after the libero at resives and u need to set the ball no matter how bad the dig is, you need to have good leader ship, and you need to be mentally strong, you also need to know who to set the ball to, all of that within a couple seconds. So I'm going w setter. (Who here started playing volleyball because of Haikyuu, if you did, like)
Easiest is opposite because they stand behind everyone and only hit. Hardest is libero because they make everyone look good. It's true, Gage is right! Omg, that San Diego coach was just lucky they won against Hawaii. Omg he said it was easy, they were just lucky! 👊🤬
