NO ONE had a life like Lauren Bacall Betty Perske, sorry I omitted another legendary husband & child. Also rather than Cary Grant & Davis, her life became Bogart & Hepburn. Read her books, she explains it SO much better, why she's also prize winning author.

What a wonderful lady and a class act. She didn't get to talk much in this show, but I've watched a couple of interwievs with her in her late 60ies and in her 70ies and those have been very entertaining. Intelligence, humor, style, dignity personified.

Her claim to fame was her marriage to Bogart, an actor who made everyone look that played opposite him. She never acted in a part that many others could have done just as well, if not better.

Betty Bacall was one lovely woman. Look at that hair when she turns her head. She was gorgeous from every angle. I remember reading in her autobiography that some guy in makeup on her first film wanted to trim her full eyebrows and the filmaker told him "don't you touch her eyebrows, I want her to look exactly the way she looks!" ...or something like that.

And I am also glad to realize she, an octogenarian, still keeps appearing in motion pictures. She is a very good model for the future generations of actresses in Hollywood. Her later appearance on the show talking about her successful run in Cactus Flower was in the 1960s. She was older then and also Bogart had died by then. I don't think she was necessarily influenced by Monroe here, but just being her animated self. Maybe in real life, at that point in her life, she was like this, maybe playing it up a little for the audience. It was quite entertaining.
