What's My Line? - Lucille Ball (1954)
Ойын-сауық
Lucille Ball is the mystery guest for this episode of What's My Line?
I've seen other versions of this online, but I wanted one edited so that it would just be Lucy's appearance. :)
Sorry about the random break in the middle. I don't know how to make it go away. :P
I do not own this!

@Justin Stewart Those born before 1970 were probably the only ones to 'learn' penmanship...My mother, schooled in the 40's, was proud of hers. Perfect. She'd ball me out on my modern sloppy scribble. Only thing I use a pen for is to sign my name for the credit card (which I don't - X will do).

I'm not completely sure if this is true but the infamous Martian episode first aired a few months after this appearance so my best guess would be she was filming that episode at this time and decided to use that for this particular episode (she has been on the show a few times).
I can't believe it took them so long. That was Lucy's clear voice.
Hahahahahahaha! How couldn't they know that it was Lucy when she answered the first question???!!! I seriously couldn't stop laughing since she started talking! "Moo, moo!" Lmao!

@@larciabella Martian episode aired March 1954. Don't forget this could have aired the Sunday night before the airing of "Lucy Is Envious" probably as a 'silent plug'.
The first time Lucy opens her mouth I would have guess it because of her Martian women episode but I know Lucille Ball was not stupid so I looked it up and this show was almost exactly one month before the "Women From Mars" episode of "I Love Lucy".

Haha I looked this up a few years ago and I imagine they had probably just finished filming that episode right before this appearance on WML. What it must have been like as an audience to have seen this episode of WML then watch the airing of the Women From Mars episode of ILL.
@olensoifer9901
2 жыл бұрын
The martian episode might have aired after this WML appearance, but the episode could have been filmed before WML. In addition, ILL was performed before a live audience, but simultaneously filmed, for broadcast later...so the TV show itself could not really be considered to be "live TV" in the truest sense of the word. Alternatively, Lucy would have already had the martian episode's script long before it was filmed. Heck...she & Desi owned the studio, so they would have approved upcoming scripts even months in advance. Hence, the martian gibberish on WML was almost certainly not totally spontaneous. That does not diminish how hilarious this WML appearance is. Personally, I often found ILL to be too farfetched...but that also does not diminish Lucy's talent as an entertainer. And, as is often the case with other comedians...she was also a talented serious actor(tress), though her TV career has come to totally over-shadow her prior dramatic work.

The reason the panel couldn’t guess who it was sooner is because the I love Lucy show “Lucy is Envious” hadn’t aired yet. This show was on in February and the I love Lucy didn’t air until March.
Lucy even had beautiful handwriting at the beginning sign in- this is my little poetic tribute to Lucy- Lucy - a wonderful for all ages woman who everyone knew and loved. She was kind, gracious, witty and charming to watch and had beautiful penmanship (handwriting) to match. Her generous and compassionate personality made the world a far far better place- and I miss her adorable smiling face. Roses are red and Violets are blue What more can I say except Lucy- I love you too!
So gracious and classy - those were the days. What a genius she was - so hilarious 😂
I STILL love Lucy...This came out the year I was born.
Omg she still kills me. Loved her reruns in the 70's when I was not even a teenager.

Goodness I was laughing so hard!! I wish I was old enough to have had a chance to meet Lucy. TV was sure awesome way back in the day. Lucy was just legendary and nobody else has ever come close to her.
I loved watching the I love Lucy show. Lucille Ball had great comedic timing; and, her facial expressions were all kinds of funny.
Still watching this in 2018 and dying of laughter. I love love love how she just comes out with her first answer like it's totally normal and then mouths "what's the matter" to the host who's over there laughing like she honestly has no idea why everyone is dying lol I miss Lucy so much!!

@@indecision6616 lol. You're sadly delusional like most conservatives. Unable to face reality.. ln 1954 blacks had to drink at separate water fountains. Even in the north neighborhoods were segregated. Being gay was a.crime. Women's career choices were limited. Spousal rape was still legal. Women had to have their husbands co-sign for credit. Cancer was usually a death sentence. But yeah tell us how great it was back then. Why do conservatives hate America? indecision you must be white... if you went anywhere near the south in the 50s you could almost guarantee you would hear the n word being used like the name Joe. And how can’t you think about the racism when you look back at America in the past? This country was built off the use of slaves. Even in the 50s how could you just gloss over the start of the civil rights movement or even segregation? From your response I can almost guarantee that you are racist, even though you may not think you are.
