XMAXX!!!! 8s Power is fun. Get all Pro-line stuff for it, shocks shafts, reservoir and read hub carriers. and Bearing kit. fast eddys? or jims bearings? anything is better than the stock bearings. after that... absolute monster.

Great race Amber and Joe!!! Looking forward to the dishwashing video 🤣🤣!!! I hope the under wraps is the long waited Mojave!!! Keep up the great content and looking forward to seeing Kaiju at MX and the skate park. Just saw the Arrma Outcast 8s that has been released. Looks good. Expensive but an 8s 1/5 scale stunt truck to compete with the XMaxx. This would be a great addition but $$$$.

That was an awesome race guys! Watching you both battle it out to the finish always puts a big smile on my face. So as far as batteries are concerned I use a couple different ones. For 6S I use Yowoo Graphene 6S 6000mah ~100C and when I run on 4S (when the kids wanna drive) I use Turnigy Graphene 4S 5.0 (5000mah) ~45C. I’ve been surprised at how well they both perform. Never had one swell ever and both stay pretty well balanced. IMO Arrma ESC’s low voltage cut off is set too low. I believe 3.2 or 3.3V if I’m not mistaken, and there isn’t a way to change it. I use a low voltage alarm and set it at 3.6V. As far as what’s under the blanket... That’s a pretty long box so I’m gonna guess the Mojave. I’m trying to be patient but the wait is killing me lol

Wheelie over the finish line. Nice. Kaiju and Amber FTW!!! LOL fun race. Would like to see a few more races with these 2 and swapping drivers. They seem pretty closely matched and I have a feeling it comes down to driver and some luck. Both great trucks. I'm partial to the Kaiju because I like the looks and I actually have one. :) Will probably get a Maxx too in the near future unless I just get a second Kaiju. lol

Hahaha she did well!! I hear ya ;) watching our "time trials" videos will give you a better feel for which is better. Imo the Redcat is better at the track, both our best lap times were with the redcat during time trials ;)

Bro I literally charge my batteries to full capacity with them sit for weeks and they're just fine the brand I usually go with is lectron pro

Two different trucks as far as on the track the Maxx wins hands down! How ever the Kaiju is a very fun truck to drive! Only problem with the Kaiju is it doesn't like gravel roads so be careful with that...the gravel chews up spur gears for some reason!

You guys make a good couple. Thanks for the content, I am really interested in both of these trucks, I am sure I will buy both eventually but for now am really leaning towards the Kaiju as it looks amazing for the money.

You must be charging it wrong ( might burn it up) Or the reason battery gets puffy is don't charge them at below Minimum charging voltage or discharge it! Don't discharge the battery too fast (if it's 40c discharge at 40c level) & plz use a steel box to safely keep your battery or your at extreme risk of fire Kiwis! Plz handle safely! Don't ever have a puffy lipo at home. It will burn up like anything! Plz have firextinguisher handy near the battery safe box! Takecare You both.

There's actually someone that speed tested the MAXX on 6s and it's almost the exact same speed lol.

So that is maxx is probably close to a $1400 with the wide maxx kit and metal axles. I still can't believe they can get away with charging that much for a rig!? It must be devastating when you break something!

Hi Joe and Amber, I raced the Maxx on race track (smooth mud) today first time and the truck just kept spinning and going sideways. It’s all stock running on 3S. Any recommendations on how to improve its handling?

Hey there! The wide kit would certainly help its handling! The next thing I would look at is getting some truggy track tires for it if you intend to run it at the track frequently. Cheers!

You should look into HRB hardcase LiPo. I've got them in 2s, 3s, 4s, and 6s. Made in Shenzhen. Linda Lai from HRB is the person I worked with to get batteries to Japan. I sent her a link to this video so she may reply to you.

An other great video.😉 I don't know what kind of batteries or charger you have? also don't know if this will help, but you can try this. If you have a professional or a high end charger, do a rebalancing before and after you charge (after use), storage charge and balance charge the battery. First, is double safety (this is to make sure the cells is as close to parallel as possible before you charge, discharge the battery, or put them away), caz some charger is not 100% right on those charging functions, even balance charge is off on some machine (like one of my charger, not accurate on the number on any kind of charging, except using the rebalancing and balance checker function to check the cells before or after). sometime after I finish running my battery and put it on the checker mode, the machine tell me a way off # on one cell, this happen to my few time before👉 for example on a 4s battery ( cell one: 3.40mV, cell two: 3.43mV, cell three: 3.64mV, cell four: 3.50mV) cell four is barely ok (0.10mV apart just ok) Cell #3 is way off after I finish using it, now a day before i balancer charge, I usually balance it before I put it in balancer charge mode, caz when you use the balance mode (not the balance charging mode) the cells only will be balance with out rising up the mV, but for balance charging mode the cell will be charge and balance at the same time which mean the mV will go up as the cells are balancing themself. Also, for low grade batteries, try not to discharge the battery too low, for example ( below 3.4v-3.8v, some batteries can't even be lower then 3.8v), some people said 3.2v still good, but sometimes you esc or yourself might miss or something, then you might accidentally kill your battery, that happen to me before too, my esc LVC is set to 3.4v, LVC came on and I thought is over hot, second time it stop I check the battery and one of the cell is on 2.9 something volt and that cell balloon up a bit, but luckily I manage to save the battery with my pro charger and the ballooning is gone on that cell. That's why now a day before and after I charge or discharge my battery, I will do a rebalancing and balance check before I do any real charging or put it away, also set the esc LVC on 3.6v for extra safety.

I just purchased a Traxxas Maxx so I'm new to the RC world.....How come you don't use Traxxas 4S batteries?.....and why do you put them on storage mode after using your batteries?? ...just curious!!

Good question, nothing wrong with them from what I hear, just pricey and not a fan of their connector its failed on a couple of ours. Yes, always put to storage mode after use! That preserves the life of the battery and much lower risk of fire. Cheers

I knew you would win Amber! Jo has the sills though. Xmaxx?! I have the Maxx and Xmaxx. I like the MAXX more... its just so agile and better handling than the xmaxx. Rear hub carriers, the absolute must for the xmaxx, proline or RPM make great carriers. Better servo. traxxas makes an awesome one. and the bluetooth link for the radio. totally transforms the trucks. maybe toe in the Maxx with the wide kit just a little but, it helps with steering

Pick a connector and stick to it. Don't use adapters if at all possible. Solder on the same connector or get batteries with the same connector as the esc.

The Zop power lipos are the best cheap lipos better than traxxas lipos from KevinTalbot

Guys, a true "good" lipo or "race" pack is ridiculous in price. They r all hard cased, & usually start at $100.00 each on a 3 cell. (USA). Its cheaper to just give $35 to $50 on an inexpensive soft pack occasionally. Just trash em when the start acting strange. Be careful IF they puff! ALWAYS use a lipo bag or an all metal ammo can for storage!

U get what u pay for ..I have two 4's lipos from powerhobby..70 bucks each but both have been through at least 40-50 cycles and each cell in both batteries are charging to exactly 4.2 still as they should
