As a fishkeeper, i wonder how similar cresties are going to get to the guppy problem. Guppies have been so in-bred to get those crazy long tails, and other traits, that they've become weak. Wild type guppies are 100% more hardy than these crazy dumbo, fan tail, bluegrass, snakeskin, mosaic, guppies.

In the countrie where I live crested geckons exist in only 2 or 3 bredeng houses so there isn't much competitions

16 cresties a lot or am I still in the rookie numbers? I prolly need 50 to unlock backyard breeder. I'm bedroom hobbyist with hatched eggs.😊

Hey, do you think breeding an extreme Harley and a brindle would be a good idea

Is it harder to grow them from 30g and up? I have a couple that weighed 30g last month, weighed them again for the next month and they are still at 30g. I feed regularly. Pangea/repashy 3x a week and insects once a week, 2 of my geckos dont seem too interested in insects at the moment. Husbandry is good nothing has changed. Just worried in case im doing something wrong

If 3x per week isn’t doing it, obviously you need to up the intake/frequency. It’s not a complex issue. Try feeding them nearly every day? That’s what I did and my female got up to about 50g from 30 in no time. Hope that helps

My question is where can i learn about the morphs. I dont understand A THIING with te little things i can see everywhere.

Hi there, It has already been my dream to own my own exotic pet store, but with crested geckos I currently have, I have no clue about their liyanage 😢 is there any safe way to find out?

Great tips!!. Btw, I need your advise on breeding. I put male and female in the same enclosure (new tubs) but nothing happen, and look like male always run away from female. Male 42 grams and Female 53 grams. I leave them together for abput 3-4 days already, no fighting, no squeek sound so I assume that they didnt mate. Any advise to solve this ? Thank you in advance.

If it's a first time male they can sometimes have a hard time 😅 I would leave them together through the season. Just make sure you are monitoring weight, and doing regular health checks to make sure they are not fighting.

As a new gecko enthusiast, id say the best advice would be get your geckos from a reputable breeder, lineage and know what your planning in advance dont just buy to get more geckos. Get quality ones instead like he said. A 1000$ gecko will produce a 1000$ baby.

im not interested in selling or getting any traits. me and my friend both bought a baby gecko at the same time to get into with each other. and now the geckos are well into adult hood and his is a male and mines a female and we thought about breeding them and each one of us taking a baby to have as a 2nd pet.
