I've been using my Range Externder for a couple of years now and it has been zero problems with it. I did have a disconnect once but that was only because I hadn't connected properly in the first place. The additional range it produces is outstanding and I'm not noticing the additional weight.

That’s great!
I have the range extender for the M10 and it's been perfect. None of these issues. It's amazing that I can ride for so long and the weight isn't noticeable to me while riding.

I have had identical issues with my Rise H30 shutting off whilst using the range extender. My bike shut off 4 or 5 times over a 38 mile ride. It is definitely the range extender causing the problem as once I’d used all the power out of the extender the bike stopped shutting off. I’ll be contacting Orbea.

We did an update video which identified our problem. No more issues. kzread.info/dash/bejne/YnusrqmLn6SYZpM.html
My girlfriend and I are considering a pair of Orbea Rise. We rented a pair in Bentonville over the Labor Day weekend for a day. Mine seemed fine but hers was very creaky around the suspension rocker arm. How long have you had yours and have you had any other issues (other than those shown in this video) worth noting?

The bikes have been awesome for over 800 miles. The range extender issue was probably user error. Update to post in the next couple of days.

@@travelzactive That's good to know. If the creaky bike had been ours I would have had to get the tool kit out and find out what was making al the noise! I did a bolt check but couldn't find anything loose. It WAS a rental, but didn't seem to have a whole bunch of use yet. ::Shrug::
shudnt it fit the Carbon Orbea rises as well? U got to make sure the Range Ext is connecting or it will shut off, same with my Spesh SL

M series carbon Rise, uses a different range extender
Did the range extender instructions indicate *not* to use the washers? I have the range extender for the carbon model and it states to leave them out, for the reason you experienced (screw not long enough otherwise).

Yes, later (with reading glasses on), we realized the little red “X” on the picture-only directions was covering washers indicating not to use them. We mentioned this in the follow up video. Thanks.

@@travelzactive Agree, the instructions are a somewhat confusing. I had to stare at it for a bit to figure out what it was trying to communicate.

@@127pcj The closer and snugger the battery/bottle cage is to the frame, the more stable things will be. If only a water bottle was used, then washers would probably be fine. But a heavy payload such as a 4lb battery needs no washers, and steel or titanium screws, not aluminum! This reply is for everyone in general (-;
Hello , I have a Rise H30 20mph same colour as yours and all. I was wondering if you found the problem with shutting off that you experienced. Also can you tell me how it works, does the bike use the extender before the main frame battery or does it chew on both at the same time until the range extender is dead?

I did a follow up video, the problem is solved. Range extender first, then main battery.

Can the battery extender be used without the main battery? Would it work by itself if main battery removed?
@travelzactive

Interesting idea. The main battery is not meant to be removed. Is your intention to save weight? Our guess would be no, but if you try it, let us know what happened.

@@travelzactive thanks.. The idea is to remove the main battery so I can travel by airplane with the bike...

How do you charge the extender?
@travelzactive

You simply plug in the charger that you normally use with your bike, but connect it to your range extender. If you need more help, see your bikes quick start guide. Here’s a link www.manualslib.com/manual/2498825/Orbea-2022-Rise-Hydro.html?page=9#manual

The bike shutting off seems like either a protection feature or a loose connection

@@travelzactive I’m glad that was the issue. The easiest and cheapest fix you could have.
As a rule of thumb, the goal is 3 threads of engagement min with any fastener
@two2pedal289
20 күн бұрын
Three threads is NEVER enough no matter what the dia. of the fastener. Full thread contact and length and stainless screws should be used here as this is an obvious issue.
With all those wacky problems, and then crashing over a three-inch root, I have decided not to let you ride my RISE LTD.🤣😂
