I was originally using HD from dottera. It’s a skincare brand. I’ve been using it for 2 years now. It was working just fine, but recently my skin has started to evolve pimples. Thankfully it’s not bad at all but I’m worried it’ll become worse. I have sensitive skin so I’m scared to change my skincare to something else that would harm my skin. Because of that fear I didn’t adventure out to other brands. Which means I’m not for sure to what is causing my skin to be sensitive. Do you have any recommendations? Also I just found your channel yesterday from your drunk elephant review. I was thinking about buying drunk elephant but your review saved my life from irritating my skin. I’m thinking to maybe try bubble. Not for sure. Thank you! ❤

How often to use for acne scars? Multiple passes just like when treating hair?

Hi, great idea, thanks! Do you need the same lwavelenghts of light to treat the skin as you need for hair removal? I think I heared something about different ranges for different purposes but I'm not sure anymore. If so, can you change the settings on your device or does it come with one fixed light setting?

I would love to use them at home but I can't find any for black people. They have a chart that says what skin complexions the IPL works with & I have yet to find one for dark skin. If anyone knows of some please drop the info 🙏🏾

i would look into alternative at home lasers/electrolysis devices. ipl is not a great option for dark skinned people since our skin color is closer to the color of our hair, which sucks bc it tends to be cheaper than other options. but yeah, home ipl can literally burn and scar dark skin bc the laser will target all dark pigments, not just dark hairs

How often can/should you use IPL for acne marks? I have red/pink acne marks that have been lasting over a year, and it’s the hardest part of my acne journey 😪 My dermatologist has me on Retin-A, I wear sunscreen everyday, and even started using nasal spray on my face in the mornings to help treat it (recommend by Dr.Dray). I am waiting for my ulike IPL device to arrive and I’ve been hoping you would make a video diving into these alternative uses of IPL and explain more about how to use the device when you’re not using it for hair removal.

its recommended that you not use retina or exfoliate for a week before using an ipl device.

I'm pretty late but in case you're still on it, don't use anything on your skin while you're on retin-A without asking your dermatologist first. Your skin will be extremely sensitive!

Are there people who can not do IPL? Like with certain illnesses/conditions or on medication

I know you want to avoid it while on Accutane and a month after taking it!

My at home IPL has great results on my old skin. After a month I began to receive regular compliments on my skin & radiance. No credit to me It was only because of the Faustina

So you should get a skin cancer screening before, because it also lightens melanoma. This doesn’t mean it’s gone it just makes diagnosis basically impossible, so treatment will be delayed or in worst case it won’t be treated. This is a really interesting paper on the topic www.anses.fr/en/system/files/AP2019SA0124EN.pdf ( minor to severe side-effects are listed on pages 6-10)

You can and have to shave, when using IPL so don't worry! Waxing would be contradictory, because you need the hair follicle to be destroyed.
