Thank you for addressing my question in your video! All your videos have been helpful. As you know there is very little information out there on how to do exactly what we are doing. As previously mentioned my journey has been a bit different as a street to seat guy going Guard. I have been told this whole time by recruiters that what I was going for would be a long shot not being previous military and going Guard. I was talked in to going 15T first but continued to push for WOFT. And sure enough got selected by the board. Update I am working on getting my flight physical done! Yes I got selected before even getting my flight physical. They are trying to get me as a 09W. Just as you stated AIT would be a waist of time. However getting a flight physical for me has been a huge challenge. The resource here are very limited and no one will take a civilian to get one done. It looks like what I’ll be doing is getting the paper work and completing a check list of things I need to complete on my own. Currently we are seeing if they can take anything I have already done at MEPS and apply that to my flight physical. But this is all I have left to do before I sign on the dotted line.

Dude, what the heck are they doing on the medical? I was a straight civilian. All my people had to do was schedule for for a class 1 flight physical (at a local Army Camp). Like, even if you have to drive a few hours, they should be able to schedule it. You going place to place is crazy, ESPECIALLY if they've selected you. I'm a little frustrated that's the way they're handling that for you.

I did the process in 1981 after USMC helicopter crew chief/mechanic. No internet, recruiter was not interested in pushing the application. I was surprised when I got a class date for April 82, graduated Mar 83.I ended up doing 2 tours as an IP at Rucker (85-89 & 91-94) and almost every class had 2 former Marines! I think the Army knows the track record. I never saw one Marine flunk out I retired in 98 (CW4) and did another 22+ years as a DoD contractor. It was a great ride but covid killed it for us over 55 years old. I hope you get accepted!
