My favorite films are... Pink, water, legend of Bhagat Singh, The forgotten hero, Astitiva ( Tabu is heroine),.... So many. And I am feed up of hearing see film like film.... Your observations are spot on Dhruv! I personally want creators to make movies like "Thappad" . That one movie created a revolution and became voice for thousands of women. Such movies are the need of the hour wherein a reflection of society is presented with an attempt to change the things around in right direction. Which means only 5% cases are processed in a year for crime against women. False rape cases are an issue. But if you look at overall cases of crime against women, its just an rounding error. Nothing more. Plus many High Courts have given revised ruling on "rape on pretense of marriage", which will take care most of the false cases.

@@jayjoshi3849 even I feel he was being too harsh on Sandeep reddy vaanga, he just pointed out the negatives of the movie without mentioning even a single positive point of the movie, even if the storyline might seem very misogynistic the screenplay was kind of amateurish, Bobby deol was underused, but the cinematography was brilliant, his direction and performance of the actors were also good, he is a director who can use his cast to their full potential, just don't see his next movie, force him to change his views a little bit and give him some lessons on writing his stories properly, he could kind of do what RGV did in 1990s and 2000s. Dhruv's review of animal felt like a negative review that was paid by the competitors of the movie.

I belong to this youth and I can proudly say that "This is not we wanted". If we ignore Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana and watch it as a Standalone movie, then too it is not good for obvious reasons. My parents used to tell me Ramayana not as an epic, but as an Legendary masterpiece which can never be replicated! I hope Bollywood learns from this and will nevet try again to hurt Indians' sentiments! ❤😊🙂

I am actually a christian keralite who had my primary schooling in a brahmin school in chennai, have celebrated so many hindu festivals due to my neighbors welcoming nature and learned bharatnatyam for a decade now. I recall the time i performed exerpts from ramayanam and my teacher advicing us to perform it with utmost spirituality. And that spiritual diginity is what the creators of this movie lacked. My memories of watching mahabharat on the tv is far far better than this film!

Being a Muslim, i have grown up watching cartoons & to be Honest my superhero was "Hanuman Ji"! & Surya Putra Karn in Mahabharat. I literally used to jump on trees thinking that somehow i also could fly like Hanuman Ji My childhood is incomplete without Ramayan & Mahabharat.

Watch NENINTHE movie. Its a Tollywood film shows the struggles of a film director. One of my best movies to watch. The movie does has some commercial elements but they didn't deviate from the story of a struggling film director.

Just watched it. What I noticed is that there were two basic theme music, an evil one for Raavan, and a heroic one for Ram. The movie waaaay overplayed these themes, it's like every scene was the most important scene... and that made nothing important in the end. The climax didn't AT ALL feel conclusive or rewarding.

Bollywood is going down with its creativity - Key Takeaways: 1. Use superstars 2. Use exisiting sets 3. Remix exisiting songs 4. Copy the earlier movie 5. Don't try new kind of movies 6. Action films give maximum success, hence its less risky 7. Make prequel/sequel as people will have familiarity with the characters 8. Use familiar actors for the side roles 9. Appease the public, and don't try to question their thinking

Kantara is for sure an extremely good film, but many people who are not native to its context will never get to understand the movie, for instance, the two deities depicted in the movie are hardly known by anyone in North India. Such need for awareness again creates new challenges in the rise of movies that are not solemnly aimed at making money, as explained in this video. If the context of the movie was known to more people, it would have surely reached more heights. Highly respected Rajnikanth did not praise the movie for nothing.

KANTARA !! The makers of that film have nailed it on so many levels. You have culture, spirituality, intrigue, tribal life, exploitation, justice, all of that carefully and tastefully combined into a fantastic story that just leaves you spellbound. I don't even understand Kannada and I still watched it more than 20 times in Kannada with subtitles. The state that movie left my mind in was profoundly different from any other cinematic experience i've ever had.
