I hoped we could stick with Chelsea dolls but our 4 year old also started with Barbies this year 😆 her friend got her the unicorn Barbie for her birthday and she loves it and now she wants a second Barbie for Christmas. My kids love the Melissa and Doug Ice cream stand that you showed. Our 4 year old got it for Christmas when she was only a year old and it's been played with every single day since then by her, her 2 year old sister (she started being interested in it around 6 months old) and has been the number one most popular toy with every single kid who ever visited us. It all has it's place in the stand, so in our experience is actually not something where anything gets lost or messy (we still have all the pieces). So we'd definitely highly recommend it, and I think it's a great sibling toy to play with together 😉

Lol yeah we had just been getting by with Chelsea then my mom started pushing Barbie on her - and she got FOMO lol I do think the M&D ice cream is a good toy! That's why i still showed it. We've gone to like these pretend play centers for kids and it's always one of the most used items. I just don't have a good solution for storing it in our playroom. I've almost bought it every single year and then landed on this because of the broader skills.

Our daughter turns 4 in March, so I too purchase a lot of things and then spread them out between Christmas and her birthday. I have a Connetix Ball run I bought last year that I’ll be giving her 😂(she just seemed too young last year). Our daughter loves dressing up and still plays with a ton of sensory materials, animal figurines, dolls/plushies and her LE playkits. We got her Maileg this year and I’m hoping its a hit, I love how sweet everything is and well-made. She doesn’t really ask for anything consistently (maybe because she doesn’t see commercials or maybe because we homeschool 🤷🏻‍♀️ ). The grandparents gift experiences for the most part ( per our request) but this year I asked my MIL for the 4 year old playkits , I’m super excited! I’m wondering if gifting Montessori and or Waldorfy gifts in the future will get harder as she grows, idk 🤷🏻‍♀️.

The wooden space ship is beautiful 🤩 I’m always looking for new arts n crafts and the foil fun looks great. aww My Daughter is almost 5 too and this is the 1st year we didn’t get her all developmental/educational toys. This year she is all about Barbie. She’s been asking for a Barbie Ambulance 🚑 doctor set. Thanks for sharing your recommendations. Merry Christmas 🎄❤️

I do what you do my daughter's birthday is February so I buy all the gifts in November when they're on sale then I split them. The toy I am most excited to give her is the kiwico light box. We also got her the ghost spider Tony which I think she's going to love and that little guy that you recommended that looks like an ice cube and he goes in water. And lots of books.

@@theconfusedmom she is very into spider man so I got her the Spiderman and his amazing friends phonics. Kiwicos book set with one on matter, cells, stars, plants. And Kiki goes to London. I love the kiki books it's about a cat who travels the world.

Wow…you are fortunate to have such generous parents : -). My daughters birthday is close to Christmas so I shop around this time to take advantage of the holiday sales. Her favorite toys from past years are the Maileg characters & dollhouse, which she plays with everyday! They are not Montessori but I like them 😁. She also has Barbies & likes to play with the Barbie & Maileg dolls together. Thanks for the great gift ideas!

Lol yes we are, and there's six grandparents so it's a little different than many. I've almost gotten the Maileg characters (for people reading, check them out here, maisonette.sjv.io/OrZRaN so cute!!) so many times!! We actually do a budget hack for that, and shop Target's felt ornaments (shop them here --> howl.me/cldPmvvT0Tu) each year to get a bunch of dolls - they have really good themed one's this year! - for like $3 each and just cut the ornament top off!
