Disclaimer I know I'm definitely going to get a bit of backlash for a certain part of this video but I just want to make it clear that an official Clone Wars time line was never established before the franchise reboot and while many Legends fans are fond of the 2008 Clone Wars series, it did create problems with the existing canon at the time. Me portraying the Mandalorian centered events of the TV series as propaganda in this video is merely my interpretation on how to reconcile the events to make it fit in the Legends timeline better than the "Mandalorian Excision" explanation found in "The Bounty Hunter's Code" and "The Essential Atlas". - Tadd Lar'ken

    @@elperrodelautumo7511 I think most of the legends pre-Clone Wars Mandalorian lore can be tied in with their portrayal in TCW series. In TCW, it's clear that they haven't always been pacifists and this has just happened under the rule of Duchess Satine and as the result of the Mandalorian civil war, during which the "True Mandalorian" (as seen in the Jango Fett comics) fell and in some turn of events, the Death Watch fell too and were exiled, later developing into a secretive "terrorist" group that waited to return later. I see the lore as the New Mandalorians taking on the place of the True Mandalorians after they fell apart and were defeated and the New Mandalorians winning the war and soon turning pacifist. The New Mandalorians might've not been that different to the True Mandalorians during the war, just that they weren't as devoted to the Mandalorian heritage, which in turn made it easier for them to compleatly lose their Mandalorian ways and become pacifists. I don't see any reason for anyone saying "screw this" and "screw that" about them. I feel that Mandalore and Mandalorians are portrayed well enough in TCW, altough ofc I would like to see more Mandalorian warrior action. Hopefully Disney fully canonizes the story seen in "Jango Fett: Seasons", as they already confirmed Jango participated in the civil war. Hopefully they flesh out the civil war more and hopefully the lore of the True Mandalorians return.

    "THE LORE MASTER OF MANDALORE..." Man I live for that intro. It's so great haha Another fantastic video, these are always of high quality and engaging to listen to. Even if I already know all the history myself, your presentation is extremely entertaining! One thing I really liked about this episode is the classic Battlefront 1 Planet zoom in, that added a lot to holovideo style you have going on. Of course other things like the ambient sounds to go with the pictures just add to the overall immersion. I've mentioned it before, I really appreciate how you treat the 2008 Clone Wars retcon with regards to eu lore, and nowhere has that been more applicable than with the mandalorian culture. That was a really clever little segment to the video. Keep up the great work! These lore videos really help remind me of what I love about Star Wars, and its great expansive universe of materials. It never happened too often, unfortunately, but I am glad that Mandalore is an exeption to this. 5:53 That's when the Mandalorians started becoming servents to "the top dog" of the republic or sith which in my opinion is how they become almost exstinct like Kreia said in her prophecy about them at the end of Knights of The Old Republic 2. The mandalorians forgot that they ARE CONQUERERS THAT BOW TO NOONE and will happily all go extinct before they become the passive people they are now in the Clone Wars. It's like the ancient Greeks and Romans pledging their loyalty to the Egyptians or Persians just because they are powerful empires. For example at the 10:00 and 12:55 minute mark in my opinion the empire would have NEVER been able to colonize the Mandalorian planet in the OLD REPUBLIC Era and the Yujong Vong would have NEVER left the Galaxy alive for telling the Old Republic Mandalorians "we will choose to leave your planet intact" lol. The Mandalorians (like Canderous told Carth Onasi in the video "Warriors Vs Soldiers") were outnumbered by the Republic six to one and they were STILL winning the war. What the Mandalorians have become in the new canon is going from the ancient Greek SPARTANS from the Old Republic Era to watered down cheap immitations who simply call themselves Mandalorians but really are not because they have too passive, they serve other armies, they are not a Galaxy superpower anymore or the GREATEST WARRIORS in the Galaxy. The Mandalorians used to be the like Batman in outer space and the Saiyan's combined

  • @Manda-LORE

    @Manda-LORE

    5 жыл бұрын

    So for Pre, its kinda easy. By the end of the clone wars (pre tcw) there was a resergent death watch movement on the rise (if you recall, in republic commando, Dread Priest was one of them) which was only briefly touched upon in republic commando novels, thats where pre viszla could come in. Have him be Tor Viszla's son (it was never established post tcw if he was Tor's son, only that he was related to him) leading this revitalized deathwatch movement. A pre-tcw Pre Viszla would also be less idealistic, I would imagine, seeing that, pre-tcw, the deathwatch were thugs, pirates and raiders who used the organization as a front for piracy and raketeering, unlike the deathwatch in TCW who legitimately believe in the ideals of the ancient mandalorian crusaders and that they should rise up and conquer the galaxy. So I would imagine a pre tcw depiction of pre viszla would have the same ideals as his father, with the added motive on getting revenge on all those who supported Jaster Mereel and Jango Fett for murdering his father after the mandalorian civil war. And with that we could have had this confrentation with this new deathwatch and clan skirata who were setting up a sanctuary for the clone commandos and arc troopers who wanted to leave the GAR, them being clones of Jango and all. Could have been interesting. Satine, on the other hand would have been a completley different character if she was concieved pre-tcw seeing as, mandalorians dont emphasize the importance of blood relations as she does, mandalorians also don't support monarchist dynasties, as she does, and mandalorians were far from wanting to be a neutral peaceful utopia, as she tried to preserve

    The empire enslaved the mandalorians and forced them to mine beskar because they wanted to make their own lightaber proof armor and ships. My understanding is, the beskar veins dried up at some point and it wasnt until after the Yuuzahn Vong war that a new vein was discovered. As far as I know, Jango's was actual beskar because he deflects a lightsaber blow in one of the Open Seasons comics IRC and Boba's original set of armor was his fathers that he repainted. However we do know Boba had multiple sets of armor which were made out of composite durasteel and other materials

    @Manda-LORE

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@raphaelhanna8345 Jango's cloth neck collar wouldn't have been made of Beskar only his plates, hence why Windu could easily decapitate him. Supercommando style armor has many weak points not covered by plates to allow movement, its possible lightsaber blows and blaster shots could get in between the plates. It's also possible that some of those lesser Mandalorian soldiers seen in the Open Seasons comics weren't wearing Beskar but that dursasteel composite armor that Boba wore later in his life that I mentioned earlier. You have to take into account sustained fire as well, Beskar armor is a great form of protection but if your taking constant fire or multiple slashes with a lightsaber, it won't protect you forever. Sooner or later a shot will get through one of the gaps or consistent blows from a lightsaber will degrade the material eventually. Keep in mind, its lightsaber resistant, not lightsaber proof. Another thing you have to take into account is, when I say "Beskar'gam" in these videos, I'm not always referring to pure Beskar, because the Mandoa word for armor is Beskar'gam, regardless if it's actually comprised of Beskar or not. Beskar is just the Mandoa word for "iron" and in Mandoa, the word "armor" directly translates to "iron skin" hence "beskar'gam" if that makes any sense. As I said above, I'm not entirely sure if Jango's armor was made of actual Beskar, only that I *think* I remember him blocking lightsaber blows with his gauntlets in Open Seasons which would lead me to belive that it was at least partially made of Beskar. So when I talk about his "beskar'gam" I'm just saying "armor". Since my character of Tadd Lar'ken is a Mandalorian himself and these videos are done from the perspective of this character narrating this information to you, I have him throw in a couple of Mandoa terms when he speaks as if the character speaking to you as he would a being from his own galaxy. I will also clarify that while Beskar was rare at the time of the prequel trilogy, it wasn't completely depleted. When the Empire enslaved the Mandalorians they had them mine Beskar because they wanted to armor special stormtroopers and special transport ships to be able to take on and contain Jedi during the Purge (like the Lictor Class Dungeon Ship that Luke is transported to Byss on in Dark Empire), they failed though because they weren't able to replicate the forging process that gives Beskar it's sought after lightsaber resistant qualities; only Mandalorian armor smiths themselves knew the secrets to forging it. By the time of ROTJ, the known Beskar mines were dried up and it wasn't until after the Battle of Mandalore during the Yuuzahn Vong War that more Beskar veins were Discoverd in the crater holes from their bombardment of the world.

    You could just ignored TCW if you want man. The thing about legends is that is was very loose canon, so one could ignored the old marvel comics it they don't like those stories or ignored the 03 CW series if they like books. For me Clone Wars in Legends is just the 03 and 08 series and that's it.

    You are partially correct. The old canon had a hierarchy system in place, consisting of G canon, C canon, S canon, and non canon. The old marvel comics were apart of the S canon or secondary canon slot which basically meant anything that fits within the continuity (C canon) fits, anything that doesn't, doesn't. TCW was T canon which was below G canon (the movies) and above C canon (continuity canon, IE the rest of the EU) so it basically overwrote anything that wasn't G canon (and even contradicted G canon at times). The problem with TCW in Legends stems from the fact that no "official" Clone wars time line apart for the established Clone Wars Multi-media project timeline (IE the clone wars books, comics, games, and the 03 series that came before TCW) was ever established before the reboot. leaving it an absolute mess with source books trying to haphazardly explain the mess. Other lore channels, when talking about Legends, either just follow the TCW events or try to integrate it. I for the most part ignore it completely because my philosophy on Legends videos is that when someone watches a Legends video, they want to know what came before the current canon, which TCW is apart of. However, I only brought attention to it this time because I was inspired by a video from the Templin Institute and already went through the effort of making graphics and effects. Whatever backlash I receive from this video, I defer to the description where I already anticipated it.
