What Tough Times Teach Us | Acts 14 | Gary Hamrick
6/18/2023
If you are going through a difficult time, you are not alone. Plenty of people suffer in this life. But for the Christian, there are things we can learn through adversity. In Acts 14:22 it says, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” Pastor Gary unpacks this verse and teaches four things that we can learn through tough times.
00:00 - Introduction
05:02 - What Tough Times Teach Us
26:57 - 1) PATIENCE (James 1:2-3)
28:52 - 2) PERSEVERANCE (Rom. 5:3)
29:58 - 3) PERSPECTIVE (Rom.8:18)
31:21 - 4) PRESENCE of GOD (Heb 13:5)
32:50 - Illustration of the Southern Live Oak Tree
34:22 - Isaiah 61:2-3

Pastor Hamrick, I saw this teaching today and I can not begin to tell you how much it has meant to me. I found out last week my brother Ben was diagnosed with liver cancer. If you could please keep him in prayer. He is not a believer and I pray that he will accept Christ as his savior. Things that are impossible with man are possible with GOD. May God bless you and protect you.

May God give you strength and encouragement during this challenging time. Let’s continue to pray for our loved ones who do not confess Jesus as Lord and Savior. Praying that these tough times will draw your brother to God’s saving grace. 🙏🏻

Pastor Gary
Pastor Gary teaching is always challenging my understanding. Truth always sets free.
Pastor Gary always seems to preach what I need to hear at that particular time. God bless him.
Suffering is how you recalibrate your ability to overcome. The more you suffer the more you learn to bear more suffering when it happens

Thank YOU Lord for sending Your word thru Pastor Gary. He's faithful to You. A breath of fresh air
Join me in Prayer for Gary each day at 8pm EST, 5pm West Coast. Keep it simple and heartfelt, but Gary is fighting on several fronts and needs real prayer for his safety, his health and the health and welfare of his family, as well as for his ministry that he may be continuously touched by The Holy Spirit and led to being ever fruitful. For his wisdom and for his peace of mind as he abides in faith in Yeshua, not sight.

Thank you for this awesome teaching ❤
Bless you for uplifting God's True Word. So many so called churches these days give in to political correctness. *_Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men._* *_God Bless_*
Pastor Gary you always keep me thinking. Thank you❤
Needed to hear this. Thank you and praise God
Pastor Gary what you said about other pastors and or preachers are very very true, in fact most of them pick and choose what to preach not verse by verse they preach what their members want to hear. They are politically correct they never confront the demonic in current events because they are afraid of losing members they fear people more than they fear the Almighty Holy God.

I AM FROM THE PHILIPPINES AND A LISTENER OF PASTOR GARY AND HIS CHILDREN
Wow! What powerful preaching 👍🏼🙏🏼♥️
Thank you Ptr for clearly differentiating the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God; for now I understand why Paul said in Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
❤ Pastor Gary, Another great sermon that I am listening to for my Bible Study 👍
These words touched my heart and soul. Many blessings to Pastor Hamrick and his beloved family.
Filling our hearts with food and gladness.
The Holy Spirit always speaks to me and challenges me through Pastor Gary’s messages, I don’t think any Pastor can ask for a bigger compliment. Thanks Pastor Gary.

Beautifully said. Yes Pastor delivers God’s word in such a way that is easy to comprehend and practical in our daily lives. To God be the glory🙏🏻
I so needed this message. Thank you, God, for letting find this message! Thanks Pastor Gary.
Thank you for using your spiritual gift to do this online sermons for God's Glory. I have learned so much since I started watching. I read the story myself then watch your sermon.
Thanks so much Pastor, I sure needed this today!!!!
As a believer, suffering while you spread the Gospel like Paul did becomes part of you because the Kingdom of God is within you but you shall get to the Kingdom of Heaven someday when all this suffering shall end. Talk of sanctification and glorification. Isaiah 41:10 Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.🙏🙏🙏🙏
Good sermon 👍🏼
Encouraging message Thank You Jesus
God bless you pastor
Wow! What an enlightening message.
Wonderful sermon ❤
Proverbs 24:10 : “If you faint in the day of distress, how small is your strength.”
Jesus said, “My peace is NOT the peace of THIS world.” Remember how the crowd sang “Hosanna”, and then later called for “Barrabas”? “Crucify Him”, they said.
Thank you ! I needed this 🙏🏻🥀
Thank you for sharing...I support your works..not many pastors shares knowledge of bible until I found this video 😊
I fell last October and just had a reverse shoulder replacement in May. This message explains everything. Praise God for always providing what I need. Thank you Pastor for preaching God’s message so clearly. Oaks of righteous message is the perfect explanation. God bless!

Thank you for these wonderful words of encouragement. God is so good.
I used to pray for patience and when I got tested lol failed someone had told me about instead to pray for peace

You're in a win/win situation, if you beat it - you win and get to stay a while longer here with those who love you, but if you pass over you win because you'll be absent from the body and present with our Yeshua. Most of us have only the option of being stuck here until He calls us up from this broken world. Remember, there's nothing that is coincidence, nothing He does not see, know and promise to work for our good and His Glory. Nothing! Keep your faith in Him and you keep John 6:29
Praise the Lord 😇🙏❤

Good historical, contextual, and application teaching on ACTS 14. However, the last 4 points doesn’t related to ACTS 14.
Good sermon but red background is disturbing.

Why does one need to Study the Spirit of Truth??

While studying Job closely I changed my thoughts on his wife. I thought that she maybe acted out of empathy & love for Job when she asked him why he didn’t curse God to his face & die. When Satan was talking to God about Job that’s the same words he used to say what Job would do if he lost his health. I now think Satan was using Jobs wife as a way to get him to do just that. Job told her she spoke as a crazy person. Crazy people were considered demon possessed at that time. Bible doesn’t say she had faith or followed God, so maybe she was possesses. ?????
You are NOT understanding the purpose of “suffering”, correctly. Our suffering is meant to make us more like Christ.
Wow. Just wow. God is awesome. I am going through terrible tribulation. But not in the way Job did. In some ways worse. You see, about 25 years back I actually prayed to God for help ridding myself of my pride. Oh man, be careful what you pray for. It took about 20 years+ and I am no longer a prideful man. I was humbled and it is good. But then God told me I needed to work on my patience. Yes, God DOES speak directly to us. This was about, oh, 3 years back. And C19 hit. It started destroying everything around me, including my family. Then my father died. It caused much more conflict. I have plenty of possessions, a humble but comfortable home, I was content even in the medical sufferings I had due to my pride issues. My relationships were attacked. About two weeks back I gave up. I am a people person and ALL the people in my life turned against me. I tried so very hard to restore the relationships to no avail. I was defeated and prayed that I could take no more, I just wanted desperately to go home. BOOM. I was bombarded with messages, all about patience, depending on God, to never give up. It's not about this life, on earth, it is about working to follow Jesus Christ now, in tribulation, so our eternity can be best. It is hard, so very hard. I am all alone, even after pleading with people to show me my offense that caused them to attack me. Oh well, it sucks to be me right now. I really want to give up. Very badly. But this is for my own good. I am still in school and must learn more. Patience. Perserverance. I can't give up no matter what comes. I have some very hard and distasteful tasks I must complete. I must get off my duff and work on completing those tasks. Too bad, if I am to follow Christ, they must be done, regardless of difficulty. Following Christ is my soul's desire. To live is Christ, to die is gain. It is not time for me to realize the gains yet. I must live a while longer. And follow the instructions. Again, it perhaps sucks to be me in this life, Yeah, so what? There is much detail left out of my little dissertation here. It is a KZread comment after all. However, please pray that God strengthens me in what lies ahead, and I learn patience. I am tough as titanium nails. Not a boast, just truth. But titanium also has its breaking point. I am at that point and need your prayers, brothers and sisters. Please pray for me.

Thank you to all who took a moment and prayed for me. God listened and is giving me strength. Slowly, at His pace. And I am good with that. Now I must proceed with the difficult tasks that lie ahead. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Thank you again and, still, please, remember me in your prayers. Today was an exceptionally painful day due to medical tests necessary to be performed. And that wasn't even part of the tasks I am facing that are difficult for me to accomplish! The tasks are not yet easier, but I have more strength to proceed with them. God is so very good.
