What to practice first | Handstand progressions

Hello lovely people,
Here is a video that some of you requested.
It's about handstand progressions or in other words, in which order you can practice things.
There will be a part 2 next week.
I hope you find it interesting and useful.
Here is a link to a longer article on my blog about practice, time and impatience. It's called "Are we there yet?"

Great video, thinking in years rather than months is very good advice to avoid frustration and sore wrists :) I am still a baby handstand practitioner, only 3 years of practice, and so happy to be on this journey !

Thank you for sharing your experience and yes, the shift of perspective when it comes to time can take a lot of frustration out of the practice. Here are a few more words on the topic on my blog: artofhandbalancing.wordpress.com/2020/02/23/are-we-there-yet-practice-and-time/

@@NatalieReckert I loved your blog post, it feels great to read that, especially for someone for whom patience is not easy :) This is a very valuable analysis of the practice.

I absolutely agree. Listening to people on KZread who claim to have learned the handstand in 30 days or 2-3 months only create unrealistic expectations - at least in me. I always feel so much better when I hear someone say they needed a lot of time to learn. I have been practicing handstands for two and half years and I'm currently working on my tuck and straddle.

"Start planning in years, not in months." That's actually really helpful to me. I always get frustrated with slow progress, but if I learn to accept that it will take a long time, I might learn to enjoy the journey.

Happy to hear that the perspective helps. Managing frustration is an important part of handstand practice. If you want to read more I have written an post on my blog about it: artofhandbalancing.wordpress.com/2020/02/23/are-we-there-yet-practice-and-time/

Hi Natalie! Wie wahr, deine Worte! Gut Ding braucht Weile.
