I had an '06 MS6-GT for about 7 years and 45k miles. They are definitely finicky cars, and a bit Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde to drive, particularly the heavy, prankster clutch. BUT they are unique and uncommon, and also look great while not being super heavy. I never had to replace the turbo on mine, and it worked up until the day I traded it in. But it did have the oil overrun issue that Mazda officially recognized. I never fixed that on mine, and it seemed to "grow" out of it around 9Xk miles. Problems mine had: Window regulators ($300 per door, and still didn't work right) Window switches going out VVT 5th gear broke a bit, had to shift slowly into that gear to avoid grinding oil-into-turbo overflow and burn-off (the blue exhaust smoke after long idles) Majorly fading/yellowing/scarring headlight lenses Keyless entry went out (happens to ALL of these cars, not worth fixing) The MS6 is a car that is best garaged and temp controlled in all types of weather because summer will beat the ever-loving tar out of the interior plastics and fitments. All told, it's like a poor man's/family man's M5 of sorts. It corners very flat and tight, and once the turbo is online, it pulls hard. But you do have to keep ahead of this car's quirks. As a family sports sedan it's reliable enough that your SO won't rip your head off, though. The MS6 has AWD for inclement weather, room for 2 kids in back, enough trunk space, seat heaters for the wife, and a decent amount of tech goodies given its age, and the enthusiast-approved 6-speed manual trans-only drive train. It's also not bad on gas. My personal best was ~26 highway. Around town with a light foot 20-21 was my norm. And it remains the highest-HP factory car Mazda has ever produced before or since, if not the one with the most TQ.

Well things I know are: Timing chains fail if you fail to hear them. You can generally hear it on cold start from the right hand side of the engine bay sitting inside. If you get your timing chain done, replace your VVT Actuator as those fail as well. Engine mounts are pretty standard Same goes for rear diff mounts, there are 2. Transfer leaks are for free, And front control arms are most likely split as most people neglect them. Note: there are 3 control arms per side (radius arm, lower control arm, and a upper control arm next to the front springs.

The MS6 can be hard to drive, though, speaking from experience. In stop-n-go traffic it's an absolute hassle of a car: heavy clutch and a lot of peddle modulation. Once there's space to run, it's great, but in close quarters it gets angry. The other key to the drive train staying in good shape is the diff service. That's a solid $450 and several hours labor per 50-60k miles.

My first one was a 2005. Called a MPS over here in Northern Ireland, it put a connecting rod through the block, then I bought a low miler that was registered 2007, that one blew the tubo and transmission. Great cars to drive when alls well and nice looking car to if you have a clean one, but those engines are just too soft. I couldn't trust one again.

While there are some good suggestions. There are some things wrong with this video. The transmission is actually very strong. Also these cars require regular oil maintenance. They aren’t a corolla. Keep the oil changes regular and it will be solid as fuck. I’m at 200,000km and the engine still has perfect compression on 26psi.

I'm pretty confident it should work, an FM transmitter just plugs into a cigarette lighter and outputs an FM signal of your choosing, all you have to do is tune your radio to the channel you chose and connect to the transmitter via Bluetooth.

The Speed6 is quite different. It’s got more chassis support, bigger front brakes, stiffer suspension, AWD, and a direct injected 2.3L turbo that’s very different then the n/a 2.3 found in the regular 6. Yours being a 6 sport should have a 3.0L v6 and front wheel drive. Also the speed6 has different bumpers/rear diffuser, hood, lip spoiler and wheels when it comes to looks.
