Very thorough video. Thank you for putting this together! Gravity drop cylinders could have a flow valve added to the hydraulic line, which would control decent in the situations you mentioned. Also, torsion axles would probably be fine for a single axle trailer since they wouldn't be dealing with any equalization issues.

Agreed to all except the powder coat isn't good on a trailer! You want wet paint finish that covers everything not ending up with pin hole rust.

I am not familiar with pin hole issues on power coat. The only thing I could think of that would create that would be if it hasn't been heated properly. Properly heated powder coat will completely liquefy and even sag or run if applied too thickly. When properly heated, there will be no pin holes.

Which one would you recommend for a scrap metal guy? would you consider any thing else you did not mention for scrap pickup?

Depends a little on what type of scrap you are carrying. Household scrap can be pretty light and bulky like appliances and such. A high side dump might be nice for the volume, but keep the height in mind if you are throwing things over the side. Heavier scrap that will be loaded by a machine can tear things up, so you may want a heavy 7 guage floor and height may not be as important.

hi I’m looking in to getting in the junk removal business. I was thinking about the f250 or 350 with a trailer. If that falls in the cdl category which I have a license already does that mean u have to get dot also. Also what’s better diesel or gas?

Sorry for the delayed response, but if you are hauling something that pertains to conducting a business, most times you do need a DOT number. They are easy to obtain online. In regards to diesel vs. gas, I am a big proponent for using a gas burner as a stepping stone towards a diesel. Gas burners offer lower cost of entry and lower operating cost and will get the job done. Then when you are ready for it, make the switch to diesel if you prefer.
