I know this is an older video, but I just had to say "Thank You!" for it. I just went and inspected a 2010 Open Road and it had a thoroughly rotten roof. Never stop with the roof videos, they really saved my bacon and kept me from making a HUGE MISTAKE on what seemed otherwise to be a decent coach. I owe you many beers.

I am not sick of the roof inspections. I learn something from every one you do, the side bubble I would worry about but not since you showed it and explained it. Thank you for taking your time from your life to load the videos and educate us all.

James, In all of the roof inspections that I’ve watched you do, you haven’t shown checking where I just finally found the leak in my slide out. It’s a 2014 Thor and has TPO on roof and slide out. I asked dealer July last year to check why I found very small puddle under the inside front of the slide. They said everything looked good. A month ago, I found a puddle and found the slide out was out ever so slightly. So today, I got my ladder and found that on top of the slide out the mitered angle front top and side caulk was loose. I pulled it off and could see past the TPO. I sealed it up and hopefully no more leaks! You have taught me what to look for. So thank you very much! Respectfully, Kevin

I’m certainly not tired of roof inspections, however i prefer a professional like yourself, not a DIY owner in his driveway. Can i say Vertigo!!! The bottom of my feet felt like i was walking on glass and my stomach was turning upside down. Other than that; i really enjoyed this video and learned a bunch.

Greetings James! Another great and educational video. Thank you for that! I have a 2012 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 32CA, and am having issues with white streaking from the roof making its way down to the gutter rail. It looks terrible on the dark paint. It’s pretty “Chaulky” for lack of a better word. When I’m up on the roof and kneel down to do any repairs or cleaning, my black knee pads turn white. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? I’m assuming it’s just oxidation, but am uncertain about how to clean and seal it to prevent this white streaking from constantly happening. Is there a product and procedure you would recommend? I have watched a few videos from other KZread channels, but would trust your advise and expertise! I always love your videos and learn from them every time. Keep up the great work, Sir! 😎🇺🇸

the silicone sealant is very high quality

James what is your opinion on flex in a Tiffin Phaeton roof ? Similar to sidewall delam. When you push in it flexes. This was left of front antenna on curbside about 8 inches back from front cap.

Tiffin roofs can flex or buckle in some areas but should not have a great deal of movement

What do you recommend on the tiffin for the painted surfaces of the roof like where you show the drip rail areas? Pro flex? Picking up a 2012 and will get nuflex for the top areas but wanted to see for touching up areas on the sides at the radius drop rail and vertical portion of the cap where it’s painted. Thanks

One other question. If you need to add the nuflex to existing sealant on the roof do you just clean off with alcohol and seal over the existing or remove the original first.

the PO of my rig (97 newmar DP, spartan) covered a lot of the roof in flexseal. would that csl 515 / nuflex 311 be correct for that application? thanks for all the uploads. your videos helped me understand that I just need to reroof the rig, but I can't do that for at least six months.

I'd have a difficult time recommending any sealing if you're going to be replacing the roof shortly, but I would still recommend dicor first as flexseal is calling itself a rubber product.

@@AZExpert thanks, I was under the impression that it was silicone. I live in the south, near the tiffin HQ. We deal with a considerable amount of water so I'm overly paranoid. Comparing the vintage campers here to ones my in-laws keep in Quartzsite shows just how important sealing is.

James, I just had a shower skylight replaced on my 2011 Tiffin Allegro and they used self leveling dicor for fiberglass roofs. Are you saying I have to remove skylight and use silicone?

I would recommend seeing if the dicor peels up easily first. It's possible the tech really cleaned the surfaces well first

What product would you suggest to wax my tiffin roof ,after I wash the roof with soap and water?

If you let him know what the material used is and where it may help him, like aluminum roof, etc. Also if you watch his videos on roofs he goes through the different materials and what to use.

Do all the Class A Tiffin coaches use this same roof type?

Hello James . Hope all is well. I’m purchasing a new Winnie Minnie , the dealer is trying to sell a protection wax package . What do you think of it? Or can I use Nu Finish car wax and apply it myself? What wax do you recommend? Thank you

In all seriousness, paint and fabric protector is easy money for a dealer and has little value. If you are thinking of getting ceramic coating and it's priced similar to a good detailer than sure, but if you are able you will always do a better ob than the dealer would

That self leveling silicone looks like it's a pretty damn good product. Unlike the dicor which is a pretty damn poor product in my opinion one can take the elements and the other can't. I understand the two aren't interchangeable
