Queue the "You could have built it from the ground up cheaper". Obviously I didnt want to build the entire house and yes their labor equals more money. I love when people point out the most obvious things. 😂

Good thing to find all the leaks before you finish the walls
The storm was really a blessing to show you the weak points in the building before you put up interior walls. Hope they can make it right.

Howdy whizzo!! No worries the dierkenson dealer will make it right. We have known the family all our lives..as a matter of fact I went to highschool with the representatives youngest brother ..ty for watching and commenting 😊
Jared, believe me it isn't limited to tiny houses. Large homes are having the same and worse things. It is ridiculous. They need people checking the workers closely. I hope it works out for you!👍🏼

Glad the company is going to stand by their product. Blessings in disguise if you had gotten electric earlier most likely your insulation maybe even some walls could of been damaged. Great size storm with the amount of rain and wind to give the bare shed a good test and you found the mistakes before moving any further

Well Jared, the rain storm came in at the right time, since you didn't place insulation and drywall. I can just imagine how much mold there could have been over time. You actually lucked out with the timing. Sounds like the company will stand behind their product and make it right! All the best next week in getting the repairs done so you can move on with your build.

Transporting your building would lead to a lot of stress and flexing particularly to the metal roof and siding .
Oh no! I would think even if you weren't gonna live in it, it shouldn't leak. You wouldnt want things wet that you store in it as a storage shed. Hope things are made right 🙂
It’s a blessing you had such a heavy rain that you found all the problems now rather than later when you had the inside completed.
Sorry about the leaks! Glad they'll be prompt in coming out next week to see about correcting all those issues! It shouldn't take too long to fix! Enjoy the rest of your day, Jared! You deserve a break! 🙏❤🙏
The dealers are always great, but dealing with Derksen (the company), is a nightmare. Same thing happened with my 16x50 and it took forever for them to make it right. They ended up having to re-build portions of my dormers and doors. DO NOT let them fix it with caulk, because they will want to. Good luck, brother! It might be a battle, but it’ll be worth it when it’s all fixed.

@Jared Crocker Comment above wise words
Jared my house is made with cement walls but the roof is the same you have. I had that problems of the roof every time there is a storm or hard rain . Somebody told me to go to Home Depot and get this thing is like a strong tape that blends in the metal corners. And everywhere you see a separation. That was the end of the trouble. Hopes it helps you. ❤
Sorry to see that you had water leakage in the new house. Sounds like the company is going to be decent. Hopefully they make it right. I always liked the way the Amish folks build. They seem to do excellent craftsmanship. I do hope they fix this really good for you because mold & mildew issues will be a nightmare if not fixed right. Still going to be a wonderful home once you complete it though. You have always had great decorating skills.😊❤
i certainly hope that this gets resolved before another storm flys by.
Sorry about those leaks. Good thing you found them sooner than later. They should repair all them without a problem on their end. Good luck Jared.
Jared, Praise God you found this all out before you finished off the inside, and moved in ..in reality it was a blessing in disguise to have the storm roll in now and expose the flaws in the construction of the shed..and you know first hand from owning two sheds before this one that they do not leak if properly constructed.
Hey Jared first of all you didn't make any mistakes! YOU didn't build the shed.. YOU paid your money..the shed leaking is NOT your fault..I know you and I know your bummed but remember your home and you and I both know that Danny will make it right.. keep moving forward with your build..lmk if you need anything 😊
So sorry you're going through this. I know it must be discouraging. Hopefully they'll fix this soon. I enjoy everyone of your videos. I rarely comment, but I'm watching. I even let the ads run. My elderly mother doesn't have internet, so she drives 30 miles to my apartment once a week to binge watch you and your brothers channels 😊 Take care!

So glad you got the rain before the hydro got connected , I’d say you dodged a bullet buddy .❤️ Golden opportunity to iron the wrinkles out now in stead of later . Hang in there Jared , this isn’t your first rodeo . You ‘v got this , there’s a whole team behind you . Night everyone & blessings over everyone of you .❤️💕❤️
I’m so sorry Jared. I pray God guides their hearts and hands to do right by you.
So sorry you have these problems to deal with, Jared. I guess it’s a good thing that the crazy heat & humidity slowed your work on finishing the shed. What a nightmare this would be if you’d been able to finish more of that work. Hang in there. Things will get better.
This year we built a 20x60 with 6inch walls, 3/4 plywood not osb, windows, doors, 24ga metal roof, 6 inch concrete slab and labor cost me $35k. I bought the building materials from Home Depot and used the bid room with my building list. The concrete took 2.5 trucks so I would def recommend that you do your homework before buying those portable buildings. We did 2x6 on 12 inch centers here and both exterior and interior walls are 6 inch for wind load due to hurricane prone zone we are in. Interior baths, closets and hallway are 3/4 plywood on both sides to provide safety during hurricane or bad storm events.
Yeah, the thing I think it’s kind of great right now that you found all this out before you thought everything was sealed up good and moved in and found that water is coming everywhere and running your flooring and so on. So I’m glad you found these leaky points now instead of later.
I hope those issues can be resolved! I am sure that they can. Try not to stress. They will make things right for you! God bless you always!
I'm glad you found it now. We are in the process of building ours in Greenville Tx now and sometimes these things are hard to find. Thank you for the information that you share, it does help us.
Glad you found it now! It could have cost a whole lot more once you had it finished. The good lord is looking out for you.

Yes ma'am I agree.
I had a flood -- from a backed up sewer line. It overflowed into the house in both bathrooms, kitchen and laundry room. The OSB board floors were soaked, became soggy and unstable. When walking across it, I fell through a soft spot right through the floor. My recommendation - bring fans into your shed, making sure that the floors are absolutely DRY. Then take some semi gloss paint and paint your floors in order to water proof them. In the event you have more leaking in the future, at least you won't have to worry about your floors.
Thank goodness this happened before you had closed and finished the rooms!! Another problem would be the openings will let air in and out as well.. HIGHER energy costs for sure!! And if and when a real hurricane hits .. well.. disaster!! Hope they do work with you and solve the problems....
Sorry for the leaking problems, hopefully you get them fixed right...
i see a few easy fixes , caulking and rubber around the doors to stop leaks . sorry the weather was so brutal ,but all in all its a pretty good shed to house so far . have a good day Jared
Jared, sorry to hear about this. I'm very surprised they didnt seal around the windows and doors. I'm very happy they are going to make it right. It's a bummer when you spend you hard earned money and then have issues. Glad it was found now. Have a great evening. Much Love! Karen ❤🙂
I hope they fix everything for you. I’m so glad you know the people so well…
Sucks that happened but good thing it did before you finished the interior. Hope they fix it all up for you quickly.
Glad they are going to make it right for you. We have bought 2 sheds. The first one we bought from Ulrich buildings. It was good except for one leak around the little door they put to access the top. They did send someone out to fix it, It is the barn style. The other one we got from another company. It was a repo and I wish we had looked at it before we bought it.
I hope they can fix the problem fast for you Jarret so you can finish your tiny house. Your tiny house came out awesome so far with you and your dad working on it.
It will all work out. Looking forward to the fix.....hugs
be glad you found out about all the leaks before you closed it in, meaning insulation dry wall etc. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
I hope they can fix it all for you. I really like your new home and property ❤
Hi Jared! That's a bummer with the leaks in your home. I'm glad it happened now before you had drywall up. Maybe that storm was a godsend in more ways than one. I'm happy to hear that they are coming out to deal with the problems. Just another quick Happy Birthday to Melanie and hope she had a enjoyable day. Thankyou for the video and I'll catch you on the next one ❤
I'm sorry you have all those issues but I'm glad they are going to try and get it fixed pretty quickly for you. I'm glad it happened now rather than when you were farther along with the build.
Jared, they should have used zip tape on all of the seams, including around the doors and windows. That would have sealed all leaks on its own.
So sorry about the leaks. Glad they are going to make it right.
Just wondering if some of that could have happened during transport to your property? Hopefully they will get it fixed quickly and you can carry on with the build
@littleflowerpatriot8957
10 ай бұрын
That's exactly what I was thinking... Transport, setting it, and hurricane ties could all be factors.
That's why when I had my roof replaced, I didn't have a ridge vent installed (which you have). In blowing rain, it will come under the ridgecap and leak in the middle like that. My roofer said he has removed a lot of them at the request of the home owners for the same reason. It can be done but a lot more work is needed. Best thing is no ridgecap and a vent fan on the gable ends. If you do something like that, leave access to them so they can be replaced when they fail. It's hard to seal it up with a metal roof but can be done, if done right. It's a common failure with ridgecaps. Maybe some of the hard plastic foam or something you can put under the ridge cap that will still allow airflow but stop wind blown rain
Prayers it is fixed quickly and properly. Thankful your family and friends are safe
Sorry this has happened. Wind driven rain is a B! You always figure it out, this time won't be different. Take care.
What a mess you have to deal with now. I hope everything gets straightened out quickly. So sorry you’re dealing with this.
Lucky you got that tropical storm before everything got covered up. May have had issues when transporting it. Hope they continue to be stand up about this. 💖💖🎶🎶
Hope they get that all fixed up for you ✌️❤️
Hi Jared!. I'm sorry about your shed house. I hope they get it fixed. ❤️❤️❤️

I see that clearly that big gap there😢
Those corners, that would take a lot of tearing things apart and redoing them. Poor job of joining the corners. You can see how it's mismatched. Easiest way may be to just fill the holes/gaps with spray foam. Good thing it all happened before you closed in the walls and had electricity flowing God bless you all and keep you safe
Jared I am so very sorry you have so many leaks in your home. I sure hope they can get it repaired as soon as possible. I will keep you in my prayers. It can be hard to keep upbeat when you have so many issues to deal with but try not to let it get you down.
So sorry to hear that this has happened to you Jarred. Hope they can fix it for you.
I have to say thank you for the learning experience. It’s really nice to have someone to point out the issues of a build. The info is crucial for many that are looking to build their home this way and your video was much needed. I’ve watched you since the build in Terrell but very seldom leave msgs. Extremely happy that you found this now and not when it was all finished. I’m sure the company will make it right for you.
Glad the company is going to come out and fix the problem. Good luck. Thanks for sharing. Take care✌️🇺🇸❤️

I hate that you had leaks but thankful that you found it before everything was finished. So happy that they are going to make it right. Glad you made this video, it is very good information for someone buying a shed for whatever reason. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
As you might remember from my Graceland Portable Building. No leaks, but door has the same problem and it was fixed. I ordered it out of Atoka, OK. and built east of there in Ferris, OK. Dang thing was built very well and has been sealed. I have gotten to know these guys and very happy with there work. Even my neighbors purchased from them. I hope these folks take care of you too.
Jared,I’m so grateful you didn’t have more done before you caught all this, appreciate your attitude toward the company and appreciate people in company willing to stand behind their product
Jared never a dull moment. Keep rockin on man. Hope they fix it quickly so you can carry on.
Man, thanks for the info! Shopping for one right now. Dormers are pretty but I'm steering away from them. Saw sunlight shining in gaps of dormer yesterday while looking for one. I'm gonna stay with a simple gable roof after watching this and seeing at the lot the same issue. Thanks brother, appreciate all you do!

I agree, why risk problems?
Jarrod thank God that you haven’t finished the interior of your home before the storm came. You will hopefully be able to have these issues corrected before you finish. You don’t want water sitting behind insulation in the walls and ceiling, because mold can grow and then you would have elevated health issues in the future. Don’t get discouraged…..at least it can be remedied.
So sorry about your leaks , it is a good thing you discovered them before you got farther along on your hard work inside! It’s never easy , seems like things are just not built like they used to be .😢
I've found there are alot of videos on KZread that address these same issues you've pointed out Jared, what to look for. United Portable Buildings has several out showing flaws in shed/cabins/ tiny house shells. Most helpful though when you pount them out and show the areas. I hope they can get it rectified for you. Love what you're doing 😊
So sorry you have leaking in your house. Hopefully they can fix everything soon. That's a pretty good size gap in door and frame. I wish you had better service for water 💧.
We got ours, a 16x60, back in 2019 for $20,000. Its going for about $40,000 now! I'm thankful we bought when we did. We had leaks in a lot of or windows before we started finishing it out. Shed company gave us a $5000 check to replace the windows.
It may be a shed or build as a shed, but it’s still needed to be buttoned up and watertight.
SORRY JARED I HOPE THEY MAKE GOOD AND FIX EVERYTHING
Count yourself lucky at least you did not hang Sheetrock and not be able to see where it leaked. It’s at a stage where they can fix it if they will.
Agree 100% people need to check any s***The houses to make sure that it is what they want and check for any defects in the shed the house before purchase.
Jared , when you were at the door just before you left to go to the dealers, behind you on your left in the video, you can see a tremendous amount of light coming in at the roof corner, that you did not show that was very visible from this angle. Hope this helps.
As always, you got this. Best to find the issues now, when they can hopefully be repaired easily and with minimum disruption. Weather sure is crazy this summer, just too hot to work outside or (in your case) inside an undone building with no A/C.
Not structural damage..so thats good. Leaks are a pain in the ass..but fixable. Just inconvenient. Good luck getting it repaired x
Sending positive vibes for 💯 fixed. It good you found ALL OF THAT OUT BEFORE FINISHED!
Glad you are going to get it fixed! Good things to look out for. Thanks for this video!

Bummer about the leaks, glad you found it before you got insulation and walls in. Hopefully they will fix it.

I am so glad you found it now.... I feel like they will address all of that.. many blessings to you all!!!

Kinda surprised they were considering fixing things and not just filling it with sprayfoam. Those corners are the kinds of leaks that're really hard to identify after the walls are in.
