A wealth of knowledge! One extra thing I do when I fly with my bow is to put one of those long (15") red rubber coated cable locks through a riser cutout and around the string to prevent the bow from being drawn. You could also loop the lock through a cam a couple times. A buddy flew to Redding a few years back and found that his bow had been drawn and dry fired at some point between dropping it off with TSA and retrieving it from baggage claim. Just a little bit of insurance

Heading to Illinois from Vermont October 28th. I was thinking about wrapping my bow in all of my Sitka gear and putting it in a huge duffle with my other clothes. Thanks for this video brother.

Hey JJ. You have become a very valuable source of information and inspiration to me in my archery journey. I find your channel very informative and interesting. I'm currently shooting a Bear Optimus but seriously looking at upgrading to possibly an Elite. The adjustability in the field seems like a great idea. Keep the videos coming. Thanks

When I bought my new bow this year I bought the SKB iseries cases for my new bow and my old bow. I hated my cheap Plano bow case that started falling apart the day I started using it. I love how they lock together when stacked, Its nice when I have both bows with me in the bed of my truck. This is def my go to case for bows now.

This is some very good information. And one bada__ case. Being able to lock the case is a must for me. I have a buddy that used to work at O'hare airport in Chicago and he said that you better lock your checked baggage, because things tend to come up missing pretty much on every flight. You keep showing me all these cool things that I now must save my money so I can buy them. LOl. I still haven't gotten the money up for the Epsilon that you recommended.

Do you have to take off your sight to get the bow to fit? That was my biggest issue with some of the hard cases on the market. I've heard some people like to use a hybrid case like the BowTruk because TSA gives people less hassle since it looks like regular luggage, and it has storage of clothes and more, but I worry those aren't as durable.
@brettwelch836811 ай бұрын
I wish this wouldve came out like a month ago. I flew for the first time with my bow, and DTW was a nightmare. they freaked out when I said bow, sent me to the specialty line, the specialty line said no go back to the normal line, and the normal line said to go to specialty. After an hour of walking back and forth, I just dropped my bag off at the conveyer and walked away. do you take your sight off? since hoyt as the pic rail, I was thinking it was safer to take the pic sight off while flying.

I bought a pelican V730 for my SS34. I hadn’t really planned on flying with it, but I’m starting to consider it more now. For under 200 bucks, I don’t think you can beat it. The pelican seems very well made. It took a dump off of my atv pretty hard and only got a few scratches. I’m not sure it’s SKB I series tough though. I have no idea if it’s ideal to fly with in all honesty. Seems like you’d have to be intentionally trying to break it, to cause any issues. If I could do it again, I’d buy another pelican for 188 bucks. May still buy an SKB eventually too

It’s easy to fly with. I used a V730 and flew to and from TAC in Utah flying Delta. I put zip ties through 2 of the locking holes because I’ve heard they often just cut the locks off anyway. They weren’t cut, they didn’t inspect the case at all, and everything was fine. I was asked twice, once going there and once coming back, if it was a gun. I said no, and that was the end of it.

Is there a company that a person can buy better arrow holders for the compound bow case like the firm rubber ones that you can screw or bolt on to the inside lid of the bow case ?
@MostlyPeacefulCombatVet

I’d like to know too. SKB used to sell their foam arrow holders separately, and they worked well in comparison to everything else. They quit selling them separately early 2022. I haven’t found anything worth a crap since and carry my arrows in a separate Easton arrow box
