What to Expect on the Visit
Meeting with the Coaching Staff: This is typically the first stop. It's an informal introduction where the coaching staff will talk about their program's vision and where they see your son fitting in.
Campus Tour: This isn't just about baseball. Your son is potentially choosing a home for the next few years. The tour will cover classrooms (where he'll spend a good chunk of his time), the cafeteria (essential for those growing athletes), and the dorms.
Baseball Facilities: Expect a comprehensive tour of the baseball-specific facilities. This includes the locker room (a player's second home), the state-of-the-art weight room, and of course, the field where all the magic happens.
Should Parents Come Along?
Absolutely. Your perspective as a parent is invaluable. You'll have questions and observations that might not occur to a young athlete.
Dress Code for the Athlete
While there's no strict dress code, being presentable is key. A clean polo shirt or button-up with slacks or khakis and closed shoes is a good choice. It's a balance between casual and making a good first impression.
Questions Your Athlete Should Consider Asking
Academic Support: "How does the team support academic endeavors? Are there tutoring programs available for athletes?"
Team Dynamics: "What's the team culture like? How do you handle conflicts or challenges within the team?"
Training and Recovery: "What's the off-season training program like? How does the team handle injury prevention and recovery?"
Future Opportunities: "How do you support players looking to play at the professional level or seeking opportunities post-college?"
Remember, this visit is as much about the college choosing your son as it is about him choosing the college. It's a two-way street.
As always, I'm here to support you through every step of this exciting journey. Feel free to reach out if you have further questions or need more guidance.

It’s good to go to college camps during the fall and winter just make sure they are recruiting your position.

Hi Alex, love your channel. Lot's of useful info and hope you continue with the videos. Question...my son is a freshman this year in high school, he gets a lot of mail from colleges about attending their prospect camps. My question is...are these worth attending his freshman year in high school? Thanks in advance!

Great question. I would wait until the summer after his freshman year. Take this time to get acclimated to high school work in skill development.

Do d3 colleges offer "official" visits?

It will be an unofficial visit for D3 but a very good sign of interest
