Yeh - makes sense. It was a debate in my head. Either way with his specific hand it didn’t matter since he mucked immediately with no showdown, but his value range is so weighted towards flushes imo, and nut flushes might honestly make up the majority of that range

I think the AK fold on the river was the right play. Maybe you could have called if you had the Kh but even that may have been a stretch.

I think you should’ve bet on the QJc on the turn. You had tons of equity, and had you bricked the river he would’ve bluffed you off your hand, whereas you might’ve gotten a better hand to fold
@BrantzenPoker

Possibly true, but in my experience a check raise on the flop multi-way is a strong hand or strong draw. So I didn’t think I’d be able to fold out many of his hands

I play the 5/5 at the Gardens, is the multiple straddle a new thing for the 5/5/10? I know in the other games only 1 straddle is allowed. I think the multiple straddles is bad for poker but good for gambling. Especially when it is an 800 cap, that is wild, although I know the stacks can get big in that game quickly.
Hi Brantzen, I play the 5/5 at the Garden, im pretty successful at this limit and want to try the 5/5/10. Last time I checked, the max buyin was $800. Do you always sit down with $500? Is there a bomb pot everytime a new player arrive?
@BrantzenPoker
11 ай бұрын
Every new player, dealer change, and new setup, there’s a bomb pot. I sit down with $500 just for the first hand, because I want to have the option to play aggressively in the bomb pot without having to dust a full buyin in my very first hand lol. If I don’t win/get involved in that first hand, I top up to 800

6:30. This might be another lunatic. I cannot see what hand would played this way?? Neither pocket AA, nor flush would've played this way. Unless he had a pocket KK with one of "h"? Set a trap on flop, then got scared on turn card (worst one for a pocket KK!!). Then, after you bet the river, he decided to go tooooo defensive, bluffing, believing you'll fold smaller flush, weak A (??). Again, no idea.

I think either check or bet/fold is fine there on the river. It’s tough, you don’t want to get in the habit of never going for a thin value bet either

Yeah I think checking would’ve been fine, and of course, results wise what I wish I would’ve done. I just don’t see strong hands checking the turn AND river that often, so I figured I’d go for some value
Serious question. Is it a CA thing to play with SO many red chips in a bigger NL game?? Every pot the dealer, players, etc are wasting so much time counting out hundreds in reds. Where's are the $25 chips?! Would totally speed of the game.
@BrantzenPoker

Yeah - it’s super bizarre, but at a lot of LA casinos, it’s unusual and not standard practice to give out $25 chips for some reason

Ahahahah my bad. I can be all over the place. With suited connectors I typically say the smaller number first. With broadways, a lot of times it’s however I peel it, whichever card is on the left. With any ace, I always say the ace first. A lot of bananas subconscious behavior I guess 😂

@BrantzenPoker I am ASD, so I care more than I shud. Agreed suited connectors are 67h 78s. Ours is not to reason why!
What to do with top pair on the river? If you are a good player it depends entirely on the circumstances. Stop pretending simple answers are the end all be all. Learn how to play better.
Along with the in and out values can you start saying how many hands you roughly played as well? If you can keep track would be interested to hear how many hands won out of however many hands you played from buying in, until cashing out.
I don't know what any of this means except money but sounds cool deservers like
