I'm Steph, wife of John & mom of 4 living on a 5th generation homestead. My husband's great-grandparents bought this farm in rural Missouri in 1942. My husband was supposed to take the farm over after high school - but he decided to go a different direction and moved out on his own. At that time he said he'd never get married or have kids. But here we are - 4 kids later and back on the farm. I grew up in town - so farm life has been a new adventure for me and I absolutely love it. I'm learning as I go and opting out of as many broken systems as I can along the way. We've lived here almost five years now, we homeschool our kids here, raise and grow more of our own food all the time, and our last baby was even born here on the farm - my first home birth. Learn with me as I share glimpses into our life on the farm.

Can you crack an egg & show us what it looks like after it's been stored 8 months? Also, how long will fresh eggs last in the fridge? Thank you. Glad you're making videos again.

Another option is to scramble the eggs very very well and dehydrate them and store in air tight container or mylar bags

Thank you so much for sharing that I can make up the solution, put a few eggs in and then add to it as I gather more clean unwashed eggs! That is the question I could not find the answer to! Thank you for clearing that up and also what lime is vs sodium silica, etc. Great tips!

So when you go to eat these, just open it up and grab however many eggs, wash them, prepare as usual? The leftover eggs just leave in and use as needed?

Its always good to be prepared😘the egg and chicken price inflation was due to avian flu. Now it's gone down and prices are coming down as chickens are getting better and flocks increasing. But we never know the future. So always be prepared with basic things😘

Thanks for the info, just come across your channel! Have this question: Once the eggs in a container of lime water are gone, CAN we just use the same lime water for storing more eggs OR do I need to make new lime water? Thanks😊

My eggs have like a jelly film on the top of the water is that ok? I have had them in there for more than 6 months because I wanted to experiment.
