    I'm a ramper who work with bags and there are a few tips. This is probably the biggest tip, STOP USING BLACK BAGS. Because more likely then not someone already grabbed it and thought it looked like there and never return your bag. Also when you describe it and say black it's a nightmare cause like 80% of bags are black. And using a silly bag tag won't help when using a bag. No one cares what your bag looks like, so get one that stands out, like crazy designs or a green bag. Use an airtag. If you have to get a gate check, keep the tag with you, cause it will boost the check in process.

    One week, and my guitar is still without being localized. It's not expensive, but with it's case it has some economical value. But more than that, that guitar means a lot more to me. Is not just an object. It is my first one, and I established a very strong bound with it. Not to mention the time I'm loosing at not being able to practice. My soul hurts...

    United airline lost my luggage, and I was on a wheel chair, my meds and valuables inside, the staff pushing the wheel chair put my bag in the wrong place

    United Airlines lost my work baggage valued at $5000 plus missed work days and offered me only $134 and ignored me when i disagreed with the amount.

    Sorry to hear that Emmanuel. I just looked up United's missing bag policy and they are supposed to compensate you at least $1,500 if your bag has been missing for at least 5 days. Did you file a claim?

    Hi Jim. I don’t really know why more information isn’t given for bag status. There may be more challenges than it’s worth to try and make that happen but I am all for better information.

    Turkish airlines lost my baggage 2mos ago. Ang they still saying that be patient. It's been 2 mos. And i left with nothing.

    If it has been 2 months and they haven't located it yet, then I think your chances of them finding it are slim. At best Turkish airlines should compensate you for anything that you have had to replace as long as you have the receipts for them.

    I flew stand-by a few days ago and my bag was routinely sent ahead when I did not get a seat on the flight. I did get on the next one and expected my bags to be safe inside the baggage claim office as usual. The bag was there, but it was empty. I was told it had been pilfered. Mine and another's bags had been found out on the curb, broken and damaged with the entire contents missing. The clerk was very nice and helpful. She sent me away assuring me of reimbursement with the number of the airport police and the phone number of the baggage claim. I called today, and the police had nothing for me. The airline (United) after 30 minutes on hold told me to file a complaint online. I'm very concerned that because I'm a retired airline employee, I won't get much in the way of compensation if any. Any advice?

    So sorry that happened to you. That's terrible. Did you take pictures of the damaged luggage and file a claim with United? They should reimburse you up to max amount which is $3,800 especially when their own employee told you what happened to it. However, without a written report of what happened you may be out of luck.

    I live in the UK. Ryanair lost my luggage and are only offering to pay for the items we had to buy whilst on holiday. They have not offered anythihg for the suitcase itself and the contents within it that were lost. Not sure how to escalate this further

    It will be hard to get full reimbursement for the items you lost without receipts or photos of the items lost. Luggage is only considered lost after it has been 3 weeks so if it has been longer than that then they should offer you some reimbursement in addition to the items you had to buy while on holiday. If you had travel insurance or if it comes with your credit card, it will be easier to get compensation through that then with Ryanair. Good luck

    You can check the airport's lost and found to start and then it would be best to file a claim with the airline.

    where can i get Lost Baggage Claim? when I reported the loss of my luggage, the airport clerk gave me a Baggage inventory form, is this the same? can I use it to claim my baggage? How do I submit this form to the airline? do i have to submit it directly? I can't find the phone number or email. My airline is Emirates. Please help me because I don't know what to do :(

    For Emirates they have had you complete a "Property Irregularity Report" (PIR). Once completed you should have received a reference number that you can use to check the status of your bag. If you didn't do this then call Emirates as soon as possible 1-800 777-3999

    Have you followed up with the airline? I know some airlines are short-staffed and are not following up with passengers with lost luggage in a timely manner.

    I am not sure what the max compensation Turkish airlines would pay but airlines will typically only compensate you for clothes and a replacement suitcase. However, even then unless you have receipts for all those items you are probably not going to get the full value of the items lost.

    I would give it a couple more days. As long you filed a claim they should be able to locate your bag.

    Call the baggage claim office for the airline you flew with and see if they can locate it for you. They should be able to deliver your bag to you.

    Southwest lost my wife’s bag full of expensive items. When I filed a claim, they wanted receipts for all of them. We don’t keep any receipts since we have never expected to lose or return our stuffs. Now, they won’t even settle the claim at all. What do think I should do?

    @@BenDreamVacations since July 3rd. Yes, I’ve filed a claim with them listing what we had in the bag. They kept insisting on us providing them with receipts for those items. Unfortunately, we don’t retain any of receipts since we have never expected them to lose our things

    @@didiermontagnier6114 unfortunately there is not much else you can do. Sometimes telling your story on Southwest’s twitter or other social media accounts prompts them to investigate further. You could try that, otherwise I am not aware of anything else that would help get your bag back or get reimbursed.

    @@BenDreamVacations It just seems so arrogant of them to lose our bag then refuse to even offer us anything to compensate for our losses on a technicality. I suppose the next step is to file a complain with DOT, but I don’t know what’s good that gonna do. What I have to wonder is how many people had they treated the same way because most people just don’t retain receipts for personal items that they have purchased, so our situation can’t be that unique.

    @@Saivignon.baby718 I had this happen recently to some clients of mine. Because the airlines are so short staffed right now they do have the manpower to respond in a timely manner. What my clients had to do was go to the airport in person and the person working allowed them to look through all the luggage they had there and they were able to find their bags. You may want to consider doing the same otherwise who knows when you will hear back from the airline.

    So, they are giving you their camera recordings to see if you can locate your luggage? That doesn't make any sense. Its not your job to find a bag that they lost. Did you have all the proper documentation when you filed your claim?

    I think you will need to escalate the situation. They do have a chat feature on their website that you can try. Explain your situation and then ask them for their corporate e-mail address if your situation is not resolved. They do have a customer satisfaction policy and currently they are in violation that policy by not resolving your issue. Sometimes also posting something on their social media accounts will get their attention and will work with you to try and resolve the issue. I hope that helps and that your situation get resolved.

    Hello, Yesterday I arrived in Italy and got what was supposed to be my luggage, it had a tag with my name and the luggage was identical to mine. I had a connection flight so I stayed at the airport when I decided to check few things on my luggage and noticed that those things were not mine. I went to the lost and found, i filled some papers and returned that Luggage, now I am waiting for mine, The company says that I could spend 25 euros in clothing per day and get a compensation later, I dont want it , I want my luggage back, it has personal belongings and also expensive belongings, What can I do in a situation where the company cannot return my luggage ? It really looks something fishy in that situation, how tags could have been exchanged if I saw the Check in assistant put it in front of me?

    This sounds like an act of theft. If you already filed a claim with the airline then the next step would be to contact airport security and maybe even the police. Hopefully there is video they can go through to see if an airline or airport employee switched tags on purpose. Beyond that I am afraid there is not much else you can do.

    @@deepkaur5846 I am sorry this has happened to you and the 30 other people who were traveling with you. As long as the baggage tag is still on your bag indicating that your bag needs to go to Canada where you are then there is no reason the airline can't get your bag back to you. If the baggage tag got ripped off and it is truly lost then unfortunately I don't have a good solution to get your bag back other than flying back to Italy to try and locate it from the airline but they only tend to keep lost baggage at most 21 days. I am hoping the best for you that the airline will be able to return your bag.

    @@kiranjotkaur20 I would keep messaging them until you get an answer. You should also be able to file a separate report too where you can list out the contents of your bag in detail.

    Terminal 4 Heathrow baggage reclaim, damaged suitcases desk , after 2 long flights tues 19th sept 23, one of our cases was damaged , the small desk dealing with damage suitcases were unhelpfull ,very rude and Arrogant ,a Dark Indian chap behind desk came out became aggressive, shouting waving his fingers, and Indian girl behind desk grinning with a smirk on her face, and in a heated discussion threatened that we cant leave ,threatened us calling security, she even said "I dont give a F_ _ _ We said call security and after a long time the Customer Services Manager came and said they have no rights to hold us and we have to contact Quatar Airline These 2 Unproffesional Idiots should be sacked ,they caused us a lot of Stress ,when after 2 long flights, tired we wanted to get home ,they wasted a couple of hours of our time, suitcase was smashed ,cant use again, Has anybody else had the same experience , and what stong action can we take
