What to do on a RAINY DAY in BUDAPEST 🇭🇺 - BEST Croissants & COOL art gallery
In this week's travel vlog, we explore Budapest on a rainy day. We eat the best croissants and visit a couple quirky museums and a fun gamer bar.
Sometimes it feels like the weather is trying to ruin your vacation, and there is nothing you can do about it. Luckily, there are lots of fun things you can do in Budapest- even on a rainy day. So, we grab our umbrellas and go outside to find some fun indoor activities to do!
We start our day at Freyja - The Croissant Story where we eat some of the best and most buttery croissants in the world. Next, we visit a super cool art gallery called Amazing Metal Art Gallery, which showcases huge steam-punk movie character sculptures made entirely out of scrap metal and old car parts. In order to avoid getting wet, we visit the Underground Railway Museum where we get to look at some old-school underground trains. We then ride line 1, the oldest underground line in mainland Europe, and the second oldest in the world.
We end our day at Vault 51- Gamer Bar, a quirky video game themed bar, where we drink a couple cocktails and play some Mario Kart.

There is also another railway museum. The Magyar vasúttörténei park ( Hungarian Railway History Park). Although this is not a program for a rainy day. It is the home of all the old vehicles that are no longer in normal operation but are still working. (e.g. Class 424 steam locomotive, Class M61 Nohab, lots of old railway cars. and more, more....)

Argh I went to Budapest before and it rained non stop for 4 days. It’s great to show everyone what you can do if it rains. Nice work

It's happened to us a few times in different cities. Always a bit of a downer, but we always try to make the best of it! Luckily Budapest has a TON of unique bars, restaurants and museums like these. We love it!

There are plenty of interesting things to do and see here! Going to be hard to choose.
I live in budapest and have never heard of these cafes and as a Hungarian /canadian I wouldn't step foot into the New York cafe. for the record best croissants in budapest are at Vaj.

We've walked past VAJ so many times, and always told ourselves that one day we'd go in. The pastries always looked so good! We've never bothered with NY Cafe either. It's pretty, but from what we've heard, overrated.
