I like your description of Elven High Magic. Changing the proverbial landscape, indeed. I just realized: You know who else could have developed their own kind of High Magic? Dragons. They have the aptitude and the lifespan necessary for it, but the Dracorage Mythal prevents them from cooperating long enough. That realization must really rub salt in the wound.

Brings back memories of introducing my wife to DnD and the FR via Neverwinter Nights on PC 20 years ago, then Dark Alliance, lol. She swore she hated video games... Within a week, I was waking up at 3 am hearing her playing NWN1 in our study, her companion PC cleric hollering "In the name of Sehanine Moonbow" and just chuckling to myself. She was hooked, lmao. She went on to be a successful early KZreadr, and a hardcore gamer ever since. Her Ultima Online "unicorn hunter" mace fighter was her personal classic archetype character, lmao. Great memories this brought back!

Hey Rhexx, I'm sure you're aware of it, but Ed Greenwood, the creator of the Forgotten Realms, now has a KZread channel, and I was just thinking of how great it'd be if you could do a collab with him, even if it's asking questions you or the fans want answered (either live or by pools), and at the same time promoting his channel, which is pretty small right now. I think your fans would be very interested in seeing you and Ed share this conversation. Just thought it'd be an interesting idea, let me know what you think of it.
Been reading D&D books for the better part of 20 years. Your videos are a constant source good and interesting pieces of knowledge AND a great source of entertainment! I feel like the arrival of the King Killer Star would make for an interesting campaign. Would even give an excuse as to why the players are fighting Metallic as well as Chromatic. Massive groups of raging Dragon kin all over the world causing an end of the world scenario that the players only real option is to survive through.

Typically the magic that goes beyond what's possible in the PHB is "story magic" which PCs don't get access to. We played some high-level campaigns over the years and nobody ever wove mythal or anything. All the really strong magic I remember seeing in modules, sourcebooks, boxed sets, etc. was old and in-place, you just have to deal with it when you encounter it, but you don't get to pick it up and go around slaying with it.
I’m not even into Forgotten Realms but I love your channel because of your storytelling and passion in your voice.
Dang, I've gotten bits and pieces of this from other vids but this really got me hooked! There's so much fun stuff to work with here for campaign ideas.

Thanks for another great video. You overall work is one of the best source for DMing in Forgotten Realms. This is a great video! I look forward to the continuation ❤
Excellent video! I was expecting an April’s fools but perhaps that’s the best trick of all
Excelent video and resoure yet again. I believe I read that the Scrolls where the magic item shared by the World Serpent, hence their original name the "Golden Skins of the World Serpent" thus deity created or even a piece of the deity. I think that your version of the Draconic Holy War as the origin of Bahamut and Tiamut helps align things better than the idea of Asgorath been cut in half during the dawn war. Also cool addition is via official content (4e hissk!) in 1373 the Draco Rage has been severed possibly in a untriggerable state - though judging by what was stated abotu the immensity of this high magic curse I kind of feel a single Lich hijacking the curse (my reading is he transfers the mythal curse onto his phylactery)
Great to have you back!

Ok, I get it was wotc saying this, but getting the players hand book was in fact, one of my best life decisions
If the Draco rage still happens then how is it dragons maintain their hoard throughout their life without destroying it? Or maintain any long lasting relationships? How can the ones who disguise themselves as other species live among them successfully if they're at risk of going mad without warning? Until now I thought what kept dragons from forming kingdoms was just their individualistic nature and need for groups to have larger food supplies than could typically be provided.
@pepperino-hotterino

good questions I think they rage against other creatures not against material (their own hoard). Since dragons are very smart they might know when this Comet shows up and leave their hoard or that society they are currently disguised in. (Steel dragons would come to mind) I am not talking out of facts but just trying to make sense.

I’d be interested to see this kind of video for other campaign settings
All it took was for Mr Rhexx to do a video on pathfinder to get a panic sponsorship from WoC
This was great! Can you do one about Eberron next?
You should do a video on Themberchaud next because many people just found out about him.
My fellow referees, if you like doing your own thing while also having a basic framework for pantheons and topography, the realms can still be a good place to set your game. Zakhara, Osse, Maztica, Anchorome. Even Kara-tur has a lot of old lore, which lets you know how things were centuries ago, and you simply change what you wish and maintain the status quo if you like how things were. Faerun itself does not have an even distribution of content. The Border Kingdom has tons of small towns with snippets of info for you to set adventures and isn't even that far away from the extensively explored locations. Good luck and have fun.
Thanks for the great video. Interesting that WotC is directly sponsoring KZread creators.
Huh, so WotC is choosing to sponsor the community directly now eh? It’s a good move in terms of attempting to restore the communities trust and goodwill.

so many people ask why fantasy settings always seem technologically stagnant despite the massive gaps in time between the stories you see or play, things like the Dragons Rage curse the elves gave them, would pretty much explain it easy, hard to develop wheel in the first place, now do it every few centuries over and over again because the spicy geckos went loopy
@donkeysaurusrex7881

In the FR the goods decide what technology can work at what time. If you brought a car or a radio from earth into the FR it would simply not function because the gods don’t allow it.
