Hey Brad glad to have stubbled upon your channel! Just picked up a used B7 Avant (3.2L) as a my daily and it's been my quarantine project for the past few months. It's needed a good amount of TLC and repairs so i'm hoping to learn some things along the way watching your content. So far i've addressed: broken rear spring, blown power steering return line, bent roof rail, leaking headlight assembly, flickering HID bulb, leaking sunroof drain, Dension BT adapter for RNS-E headunit, and a shorted tail light harness (might swap to aftermarket LED assemblies but still on the fence). I'm sure there's more to come but i think i've finally gotten to the point where i can start to enjoy the car. OBDEleven seems to be the next area to explore (I have experience with Bimmercode so I know the power/fun of coding) so I'll be sure to use you're link when I decide to pick one up. Thanks again man.

ayy i just recently picked up a similar A4 B7, except mines only got 140hp, on the other hand i do have the cruise control, bi-xenon headlights, ... The only real problem i had was the car had trouble starting when warm, which was fixed by a simple remap. When replacing the head unit (also had the RNS-E) the car was picky about what adapter i used but that wasn't that bad. It's a nifty little car, hope you enjoy driving it!

Nice you got all the good stuff! A remap and dpf/egr delete would definitely free this car up nicely. What head unit did you get for it and do you know what adapter you used?

@@BWTV Head unit is just a entry level Pioneer (DMH-A3300DAB) with a plastic 2-DIN shroud. The only adapter that worked for me (keeping the stock sub working) is the Connects 2 CTSAD002.2. I also bought a Hama remote control cable (00080955) so that all the steering controls work.

How did those coil overs effect your camber if it was effected did the alignment fix the camber ? I want to get some coil overs but don’t want to be wearing out the inside of my tyres

As someone who works in Kwikfit in the West Mids, it is something that the Hunter machines we have can do, you have to spend more time than the upper management wants us to spend on an alignment to setup the settings to compensate for the altered ride height, the configuration is built into the software it's just not used because we're under pressure to have the workflow. It's a shame but it's possible just we're pressured against it.

Ohh that's crazy to know. The hunter machines is what the guys at the other garage had, which gives it a more accurate reading? Insane to know that though, feel sorry for you guys and the pressure you got!

@@BWTV yeah Kwikfit use the same machines cause it's the dealer level kit, it's really accurate if you take the time to actual go through all the configs but Kwikfit staff are pressured by the high up managers to do the basic settings that are preloaded from manufacturers specs so anything that requires set up is discouraged for the sake of getting what you can get done fairly simply done quickly I've seen stores in my area town down work because the camber and toe bolts are corroded and they don't want to chance having to deal with it if the bolt snaps

wonder if itl work on the b6 audi a4?

For anyone having problems with the pinch bolt on the fron t suspension arms grind the ball joints off it will save you hours of grief.

Hi I had the same problem with alignment garages when I lowered my mx5 took it to this place to laser aligned and runs good so far, but it’s in hibernation now for winter. Sadly the mx5 is from 1992 so no obd2 for me

Slightly different, the only main difference I've felt with them is at motorway speeds over slight dips it's a bit springier but at normal speeds it feels very similar, same comfort 👍

Sorry for the late reply mate! Yeah there should be a light, unless it's a diesel I think they use the glow plug symbol as a CEL

if your car doesn't have an alarm system from the factory, it won't work.

I don't just need the acoustic lock, I need to make the whole alarm louder because BMW stock alarms are like a farting butterfly. Hope this OBD Eleven 2 will let you code the volume when it's supported. Bimmercode will only change the alarm ringtone and Carly is just shit

Aw fuck! I just bought "mycarly" thinking that was the one you used. My A4 came up with the DPF light, then engine light and glow plug light. I'm hoping it all works out after I've managed to clean the DPF. Trying a chemical first. Very sick of my life at the minute. I love your cat, she looks so much like my fur-baby. I mentioned to you before, get her checked out every 6 to 12 months and watch her heart. My baby didn't make it.

@@BWTV Camber and toe are normally related. When you lower the car it will end up either toeing in or out. If you are ever looking for a really good place for wheel alignment round your way there's a place in chesham called wheels in motion. They are expensive but they do the job properly first time
