I've always done that, since childhood. My mother and grand-mother used to do that :-). It's common here curiously enough..

I've tried it, and it really works. Also seasalt does a bit of magic to the jeans. Creates better contrast imho :-)

here is something else. When I was young and had new jeans (sorry, but these were Wrangler) I went to swim in the sea. And than the jeans fitted like a second skin...
Why does the right hand side of my Jean turn yellow after a while, is there a way to solve that or avoid it?
Yep, it really works. Also seasalt can do magic to jeans. Creates better contrast imho :-) I've recently put a pair of dry jeans out in the hot sun. 3 hours frontside, 3 hours backside: the contrast of the fades really became more visible. Note: these jeans were soaked 1 time. A month before the sun/tanning :)
