I have been disappointed with Second Sight 4K releases . Dog soldiers compared with the original DVD was only a slight upgrade,same with Mean streets a upgrade but not a big difference. The fugitive and the shape of water are excellent 4k transfers,and well worth the upgrade from blu ray. You have some great pick-ups l like nearly all the films you got👍

Great to hear you mention The Boy Who Could Fly. I remember renting that from "The Video Man", a guy who used to come to my family's house with different VHS in a big suitcase that we used to get to pick to rent - I was obsessed with it (and the actress who played Milly 😂) when I was six or seven in the early nineties. My dad managed to get me a VHS copy, which I still have somewhere. I actually got a region free DVD from eBay years ago which I still have too. Tried to introduce it to my kids and unfortunately it didn't have the same impact on them which it had on me.

Thanks for the heads up on the HMV offer. Popped into my local one today and picked up Chinatown and Barry Lyndon from the Premium Collection.

I wanted Judgement Night but my local HMV didn't have it.

Believe or not, the original effects from King Kong have aged better than the 2000's remake, some of that digital compositing, especially the water around the island and the Raptor chase scene look well dodgy, especially in 4k...

Just to let you know mate. The HMV Premium collection are not just Warner films. Top Gun. The Golden Child and Ghost ect are Paramount films.

In my opinion that old The Fugitive Blu-ray doesn't use good transfer (soft/fuzzy/washed out). I consider it one of the worst Blu-ray releases in my collection (for picture quality, the movie itself is very good). Unfortunately the new 4K transfer is only released as 4K+Blu-ray combo and I don't do 4K, so upgrading seems a bit too pricey for me unless the combo is sold in bargain bins in the future...

It's an early days WB standard catalog release so I'm not expecting pristine quality but it was £3.50 so no big loss if it's trash..
