What The Best Wattson Players DO That You DON'T Feat. BOTSPIKE

Ойындар

This Wattson guide is unlike any other you'll find. After spending hours talking with Botspike, analyzing his gameplay, and testing what I found in-game I narrowed Botspike's improvement journey down into a 5 step triangle that should act as a guideline to your own improvement journey.
HUGE shoutout to ‪@BOTSPIKE‬ for the interview and help with the video. I HIGHLY recommend you check him out and subscribe!

    This was such a good video, I've been playing Apex since season 7 and I've mained Wattson and Pathy, with about 25k kills combined between the two. I love Lamic and BOTSPIKE so I was excited for this one but I got even more out of it than I expected. I've always positioned myself well in ranked (Former Master, Regular diamond with minimal effort), but as a former pubstomper in OG cod and Battlefield I definitely prefer pub play and I've never quite realized how much I get headstrong and miss my positioning in pubs, throwing 20s at like 14 kills. This video was super informative and thought provoking from a general gameplay growth perspective, but also taught a (semi) seasoned wattson like me a few things I could utilize more (Hook fences and the right click pickup option). The description of Solo Duos (which I do well in) vs Solo Trios (where I flop) was like a lightbulb in my head and THAT's how you know this is good content. Definite Sub😁

    Honestly this video gave me a lot of ideas. I play on console so I can't tap strafe and thought wall bounces are useless to le because I can't control the direction I'm going, but those are very useful with Wattson because you can save so much time and keep much more momentum when you wall bounce after fencing

    4:52 WOAHHH Does this work on controller/console? I play on PS4 and I tried to pick up the nodes from a distance while "Q"ing (being in Wattson's tactical state to deploy fence nodes) and it didn't work I've been trying to look to see if there's any console Wattson guides that mention this node retrieval method but I haven't seen any yet It'd be a shame not to be able to do this, I guess it's just one more reason (among too many) to eventual try to switch to MnK Either way, the "waterbending" seems really cool and practical

    I'm not so much "newer" anymore, but about 600 hours in. (to me that's new) Especially since this is my first shooter, EVER. I just figured out it's a lot easier to start hitting wall jumps and jazz if you are constantly hopping to maintain momentum. (Am I correct in this?) It just seems to be way more "flowy" when I do this.

  • @incprovement

    @incprovement

    3 ай бұрын

    Pretty incredible that this is your first shooter! Imo Apex is the hardest FPS right now. As for your question: If you're bhopping and maintaining momentum I'd agree that it's easier to hit wall jumps because it's possible to hit a wall jump called a fatigue jump like that. (To hit a fatigue jump you have to jump once first to go into a fatigue state and then wall jump after that. You don't have to slide with a fatigue jump). If you're trying to just hit a traditional wall jump (running, sliding, jumping, then jumping when you come into contact with the wall) constantly hopping won't help. I think in the short term it feels like hitting wall jumps is easier when you're constantly hopping because it becomes possible to hit fatigue jumps. When I started doing fatigue jumps it was much easier to hit them when I jumped constantly.

    @@Matcraft1871 If I was to try to apply the video to Octane I'd keep the same mindset as Botspike but mostly try to find the playstyle that you're most comfortable with. For octane I'd explore whether you're more of a solo type of Octane where you stim and fight on your own, or if you're the type that entry frags for the team and takes the heat so your team can clean up after you. After that, I'd just work on the other aspects of the triangle bit by bit. Hope this helps!
