When you inspect a hive, you're usually checking the temper, space, activity, brood, and laying pattern. But there are additional duties you should be doing or at least keeping an eye out for depending on the season as well.
I made a chart that shows the different tasks according to season. This video goes over that chart and explains what it all means and how to figure out what "season" it is. That may sound silly, but the beekeeping tasks you do i early Spring in New Hampshire will be different than the beekeeping tasks you do at that same time for bees in North Carolina. So go by the average outside temperature in the daytime, your environment, whether you see flowers blooming yet and what your bees are doing.
