Ok, I have watched many many videos on beekeeping as I want to start my own hive but no-one, I mean NO-ONE, has explained it like you have done in as much detail and in terms I can understand. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH.

It’s so true what @garryhancock3394 said about this video. I’m in a Bee club and I learned more in this video than a full year of beekeeping. I’m in the highlands in Australia so we are getting ready for winter. My last inspection will be tomorrow and testing before spring in September. Did you have any tips for 1st year wintering for new beekeepers?

Great information. I’m a first year beekeeper and have watched dozens of hours of videos on beekeeping. This one was the best yet for learning how to read the frames in the hive. I learned a lot, thanks.

This has been very helpful. I've seen a lot of what you said all over youtube, but you simplified most if it in an even more comprehensible way. I get my nuc in about two weeks and a package sometime soon and will start my beegining of this hobby. Thank you!
Thank you. As a new beek, I'm still learning. And I need all the knowledge I can get.
Please keep making more videos, I learned more from watching your video than most any of the videos I have scrolled through, thank you very much, I don't have any bees yet but I am going to be getting me some as soon as I can afford it
You done a great job telling everybody the correct way to read a frame spot on an in great detail . Keep up the great work you are helping out people to become great Bee Keepers. THANKS

I made a video about egg spotting - kzread.info/dash/bejne/pJeexaZsfJuej5c.html Looking for larvae week after week helps too, but when you see larvae, look next to it and the larvae should get smaller and smaller and then there will be eggs.

I’ve heard you can hold the frame so the back of the cell is exposed to the sun. Then rotate the frame around and try to look for the shadow of the egg rather than the egg itself.

I think this should be the first video beginners watch. Learning about gadgets and the supers are important but its more important to learn about the animal you are tending.
@BeekeepingMadeSimple
4 ай бұрын
I agree! That's why I really encourage my students to just sit outside their hive and watch the bees come and go. You will learn 100 times more just by being in their presence and it will make you a better beekeeper. Gadgets make things easier, but nothing replaces the beekeeper intuition you will develop when you learn about bee behavour.
I don't know how good a beekeeper you are but my YOU ARE AN AMAZING TEACHER!

Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to comment :) Great job expanding your apiary! That's exactly what I try to get my students to do -expand to at least 5 hives over the summer. That way it's not a big deal if one or two hives don't make it. That's nature and your apiary can bounce back.
I came looking for a video just like this. Yours is the best! I’ma first year and was having the hardest time distinguishing between the kinds of cells and you broke it down in a way that is so simple for me. I was also stressing because I can never seem to spot the Queen and you helped relieve a lot of that stress. Thank you!

Great video Leresa. After going on a beginners bee keeping course now have my first hive and look through the frames weekly at the local bee keepers club where lots of other beginners keep their hives. It is so helpful learning with an experienced bee keeper going around inspecting each hive with their owners and with lots of questions and observations being made. Find this hands on approach gaining experence from others noting problems and repetitivness really useful in drumming home knowledge. Also with the help of watching numerous online videos from professionals like yourself talking and listening to scientist about latest developments coming through on how to tackle diseases.
