how would everything be loaded all at once? ground layout is generated with something similar to Perlin noise while a lot of structures are very rectangular , many biomes are eliptical, caves are of weird patterns and more. basically everything points out to be layers of generation, but I too didn't think they literally fill up the world just to replace the data later. I guess it's possible because you pre-gen the world and it's not that big to generate so it only takes some load time and that approach allows for more fluid and smooth worldgen than would be done otherwise with the same amount of work.

@@Youssef-qm6ny - MC does it in two phases i think First generating the blocks and terrain, while the second one populates it with grass, flowers etc.

This would be a good idea but most structures are really hard to find like sword shrines dessert pyramids,etc and also people can just take a picture of the entire world so they now where it is

i dont agree with the picture thing but i do also think that for like me, for example i don’t want to have the whole thing spoiled and i would kinda subconsciously remember exactly where the temple is, and it wouldn’t be as satisfying when i “find” it. or as some one else said, sword shrines and pyramids. and also finding the “right” floating island can be very time consuming but satisfying, just knowing “ok the one at spawn is water, let’s skip that one” would be kinda boring. ok rant over (god this is long)

This mod is more for modders (so that they can see their world gen code in real time) than for people who just play mods, because otherwise it spoils the world…

Crazy how small the oceans are compared to literally everything else, and those feel pretty big, it just really puts into perspective how big the map really is, and I love it

Using this mod and making a new Calamity world once, and Queen Bee spawned... To this day I live in a constant state of fear

Something likely damaged the larva in one of the hives after you spawned in. Maybe lava dropped onto it because it generated inside somehow? Although I'm not familiar with the list of things which are able to damage the larva, that would be my best guess

Fun Fact: most games actually spawn in what their saying because it is easier to name it the class (or variable) instead of just lying for example Public class terrain { String generate = “Loading terrain” } System.out.println(terrain); (you would also put the code for loading the terrain I’m but that is easier then writing different variables then just using the actual variable)

The Jungle Temple genpass is actually just 2 passes before the Settle Liquids pass. The previous 2 being Hives and Jungle Chests. The line you see that's updating the map actually just hadn't updated that the temple was created yet, and by the time it looped back around, it was doing the Settle Liquids pass, so it also updated the map to include the temple.

When did you generate it, and would you be up for tampering with it? Two solutions I can think of include using T-edit, or using the clentaminator with the desert solution to artificially make an underground desert. Now I just need to remember how to actually get the stuff...

This is really easy to prove with TEdit, creat a new world in terraria, open it in TEdit, flood it with a liquid, then save it and open it, it will be stuck on settling water for a good couple of minutes

I think it should only show a large area around where youd spawn, instead of the entire map

This would make it more visually appealing during the beginning
