To understand the Night's Edge, you've got to understand real life chemistry. You can take an explosive material and combine it with a poisonous material, and make something that many people like to put on food. Logically, it doesn't make sense, but that is how it works

Elemental chlorine is extremely poisonous. Sodium reacts with moisture and explodes violently. Both are necessary for the body but in different forms. Both of them can create dangerous compounds that you would not want to eat.

The swords that make up the Night's Edge represent the four main hostile areas in Terraria's Pre-hardmode, The World Evil, the Jungle, The Underworld, and The Dungeon. These swords show mastery of each area, and combining them at an Evil Alter, you get a sword representing the conquering of most of the danger in Pre-Hardmode. Hence why it's powerful.

I think the theming of the night's edge and its materials comes from the idea of evil. The poison of the jungle, the flames of hell, the rot of corruption and the prison of the dungeon. Combined at a demon altar, you get refined evil as a blade. Not to mention, its upgrade comes alongside hardmode and, combined with true excalibur (assumedly a weapon of good from the king arthur link), you get an embodiment of the world itself; good and evil combined

Starfury turned out amazingly beautiful, Night's Edge didn't seem too amazing, but it was very accurate (the sword sprite is very simple indeed), though you did a nice job adding the moon detail, poetic license am i right? Loved the cute slime too!

I love the Night's Edge, it's just hard to make it into anything other than what it already is. The blade's color was a bit disparate from the illustration but still done moderately well

I kinda interpret the night's edge's guard as bat wings hence why in the sprite, the spikes point down. As for how it attacks, and looks, I think of it as a perfect combination of how all the others attack and look. It's got the color of Light's bane, the circular type beat extra projectile of blade of grass, the curved edge and autoswing capabilities of muramasa, and the raw damage of volcano

Reminder that when it comes to looking like garbage, no fanart on the internet will ever compete with the official (now discontinued) Night's Edge toy. Seriously look it up, it's so bad lol. Could be a nice confidence boost for anyone feeling down about their own art, cause if you're reading this you probably could've done it better.

The flying dragon would be a fun sword to illustrate

the baby slime has a pacifier

Those illustrations are genuinely rad, I feel like they're completely accurate to a realistic setting, i absolutely loved the little moon trails of the night's edge. i'm no art expert but these give me some relatable inspiration i can't explain. I had always pictured the baby slime summon to have like a pacifier in its mouth tho, otherwise it'd be a simple black pixel for the mouth i think.

Meanwhile im watching this, as i can barely even draw a stick figure.

i feel like the nights edge should be a bit thicker, maybe at the base. to me the drawing doesnt look as powerful as the in game weapon, it needs some more weight while still remaining quite nimble.

The night's edge's guard is a bit droopy, I feel like it should be more curved upward towards the blade. As in the sprite, the spikes jut more outward than inward.

Hey there, am not a professional artist or a sword enthusiast and I don't want to hate your art. It is better than anything i could ever draw. I think the night's edge guard is a metal ring with small rods standing out instead of spikes. It looks too much like star fury guard ti me which was absolutely awesome. Besides that it's very good. I love both of them.

The nights edge illustration has it's guard upside down in addition to the base of the blade being extremely cramped, you have put one weapon on top of the night edge and wrapped it around it. Cool art but it is quite different from the source material. How you choose to take this is up to you.

I think it would be really cool though if you incorporated the "after-image" attack that the Night's Edge does in the game- maybe as a second more transparent sword or slash extending beyond the sword itself? I love how you did the starfury so well, it's one of my fav weapons along with the star wrath (just a better ver of it) and star cannon.

i loved them all but the night's edge was a little inacurate, aside from that, this video was great and all the art was amazing!

Great illustrations I think an interesting weapon you can try to draw is the rainbow rod or the crystal serpent I don’t know you can do a whole lot with magic and summoner
