Look out, indeed! With Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone back on track - literally and figuratively speaking - her competitors are understandably on edge. After all, they are up against the current 400-meter hurdles world record holder. From here, meaning at the top spot in the event, Sydney aims to keep going forward.
With the Paris #olympics fast approaching, she is more determined than ever to maintain her top spot. After an injury sidelined her for much of the 2023 season, including the #trackandfield World Athletics Championships in Budapest, fans had been eagerly awaiting Sydney’s return to form.
On that note, fans were delighted when she made her long-awaited return to the track in April as a member of a women’s 4x100-meter quartet at the Mt. SAC Relays in California, where she, along with her team, finished second place. Competing at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, California, United States, #sydneymclaughlin , along with Keni Harrison, Jenna Prandini, and Morolake Akinosun ran for the Formula Kersee, securing second place behind Team International. The winning team was composed of Dina Asher-Smith, Rhasidat Adeleke, Lanae Tava-Thomas, and Julien Alfred. While Team International clocked 42.03 seconds, Formula Kersee followed, recording 42.93 seconds.

I think she has it in herself to break 50 in the 400H. Then focus on what it will take to take down 47.6 in the open 400. That would be remarkable achievement.

physically she is in better conditition than ever, look at the diffrence between 2021 sydney versus 2024. 49.9 will be real chance, her 400m speed is best in the world now, hurldling also looks smoother than ever. think if the new york gran prix had good conditions she would have run 48.4-5 atleast

Actually, this will be Sydney's 3rd Olympics; if she make it. She also made the team in 2016 (at 17 years old) in Rio. She was sick and did not compete well; and did not medal.

@@Bronxxxnyc Athing Mu did a rookie mistake , runs within a pack ( more mistakes can be made there .... ) , decides to look on her left while not paying attention to the others next to her & wasn't competitive most of the year . She needed that mistake to adjust , learn and grow . Sidney is another level of athlete & runs within her own lane , never clipps hurdles & has never lost a 400 meters Hurdles since 2021 . She has more care for her preparation & is followed by her Coach / Husband to avoid any mistake . She is the leader world wide & won't risk throwing away a new Wr / Gold medal + a relay .

It comes down to foot speed and Femka Bol doesn’t have enough sprinters foot at the end to beat SM hence that’s why she’s keeps breaking her own records!!

Euhm, no. Femke Bol has the leg length. And the 400 (with or without hurdles) is a fundamentally different game, because the runners are running the last part with muscles that are saturated with lactic acid. So it is not that simple. Sorry.

So what’s the point in running the hurdles? I really think the more fame the more selfish she’s become. It’s absolutely nothing to prove. It’s sad because I know 2 people who going to Paris because she hinted she was running the open 400 but of course she don’t care
